To use them on a dedicated server, set an AdminPassword in the server configuration first, then join the server and run /AdminPassword <password> in chat. Pocketpair’s official Server Guide is identified as version 1.0.4; the command names and syntax below follow that guide.

What you need before using Palworld admin commands
Admin commands are server-side operations, not ordinary player chat shortcuts. The server must have an AdminPassword configured before authentication can work. Pocketpair’s official instructions require the owner to set that value in the configuration file, then enter the same password in game with /AdminPassword <password>.

- A character connected to that server so you can open chat and run the login command.
- The SteamID shown by the server for any player you intend to kick, ban, or teleport.
Do not paste the password into a public announcement or ordinary chat message. Treat it like any other server credential and change it through the configuration when it is exposed.
How to become an administrator
- Open the server configuration and set
AdminPasswordto the password you want the server to use. Save the configuration using your host’s normal procedure. - Join the Palworld server with the account that will perform administration.
- Press Enter to open the in-game chat input.
- Type
/AdminPassword <your-password>, replacing the angle-bracketed text with the configured password, and submit it. - Run a harmless command such as
/Infoto confirm that authentication succeeded before changing player or world state.
The password must be configured beforehand; entering an arbitrary password in chat does not create administrator access. If the login command is rejected, check spelling and capitalization, confirm that the configuration was saved to the active server, and verify that you are connected to the intended instance.

Command syntax: game chat versus a web console
In game, press Enter and type the command with its leading slash. For example, use /Save or /ShowPlayers. A hosting control panel or web console may present a different input field: the implementation guide updated 10 June 2026 documents authenticating with the Admin/RCon password and entering commands without the leading slash, such as save. Follow the console’s own authentication prompt and syntax rather than copying the in-game slash.
Text in square brackets in the list below is optional. Text in angle brackets is a value you must replace. Keep a player’s SteamID exactly as the server displays it, and put the message text after the command when a command accepts a message.

Find the correct SteamID
Player-targeted commands require the identifier associated with the connected player, not a display name. After authenticating, run /ShowPlayers. Read the roster output, identify the intended player, and copy the SteamID exactly as shown. This avoids acting on the wrong person when two players use similar names or when a name contains unusual characters.
Use the identifier immediately before a moderation or teleport action, especially on a busy server. If the player disconnects and reconnects, run /ShowPlayers again and verify the current entry rather than assuming the old roster line is still valid.

Moderate a player safely
Kick a player
For a one-time removal, run /KickPlayer <SteamID>. A kick affects the selected connection rather than the entire server. Tell the player why they were removed through your normal server rules or a preceding broadcast when appropriate; a kick by itself is not a permanent ban.
Ban a player
Use /BanPlayer <SteamID> when the server policy calls for an access restriction. Verify the SteamID from /ShowPlayers before submitting the command, because the command targets the identifier and not the visible name.
Undo a ban
To reverse the restriction, run /UnBanPlayer <SteamID> with the same player identifier. Unbanning changes the restriction; it does not itself reconnect a player who is offline. Ask the player to connect again after the unban has been applied.
Teleport yourself or another player
Go to a player
Run /TeleportToPlayer <SteamID> to move your authenticated character to the selected player’s location. This is useful for resolving an incident or inspecting a build without moving the other player.

Bring a player to you
Run /TeleportToMe <SteamID> to move the selected player to your position. Explain the move first when possible; teleporting changes another player’s position and can interrupt combat, building, or exploration.
Both teleport commands affect a player’s location but do not alter the server roster, ban status, or world-save policy. If the wrong person is selected, stop and obtain a fresh roster with /ShowPlayers before trying again.
Communicate and inspect the server
Broadcast a server-wide message
Use /Broadcast <MessageText> for maintenance notices, rule reminders, event announcements, or a warning that a shutdown is about to begin. Include the useful detail in the message itself, such as the expected timing or the action players should take.
Check server information
Run /Info when you need the server’s information output while diagnosing a connection or administration issue. It is an information command and does not kick, move, ban, save, or stop anyone.

Save progress and shut down correctly
Manual save before maintenance
Run /Save before planned maintenance, configuration work, or a restart. Give players a warning first with /Broadcast so they can stop building or combat actions and log out cleanly.
Scheduled shutdown
Use /Shutdown [Seconds] [MessageText] for planned downtime. Supply a delay in seconds and, when useful, a message that tells connected players what is happening. The delay gives players time to finish a safe action and disconnect. Because both arguments are optional, follow the exact timing and notice format your server accepts; do not assume a default countdown if you have not specified one.
Forced stop
/DoExit stops the server immediately. It is not the same workflow as a scheduled shutdown: there is no countdown or built-in notice in the command syntax. Reserve it for situations where an immediate stop is necessary, and use /Save first whenever the server is still responsive and circumstances allow.
Use spectator mode
After administrator authentication, run /ToggleSpectate to switch into spectator mode. This changes your own viewing mode rather than another player’s state. Pocketpair’s official instructions specify that pressing the key changes back from spectator mode. Test the key binding in a quiet location before relying on it during an incident, since keyboard layouts and overlays can affect what you see.
A practical administration runbook
- Authenticate once: enter
/AdminPassword <password>after joining. - Verify access: run
/Infoand confirm that the command returns server information. - Identify the target: run
/ShowPlayersand copy the exact SteamID. - Choose the least disruptive action: broadcast a notice for communication, kick for a temporary removal, ban for a policy-based restriction, or teleport only when moving a player is justified.
- Preserve progress: run
/Savebefore planned maintenance. - Announce downtime: use
/Broadcast, then/Shutdownwith a delay and message for a planned stop. - Escalate only when necessary: use
/DoExitfor an immediate forced stop rather than as the normal maintenance command.
Troubleshooting common failures
“AdminPassword” does nothing
- Confirm that
AdminPasswordexists in the active server configuration and that the value matches what you typed. - Check capitalization, spaces, and special characters in the password.
- Make sure the configuration was saved to the server instance you actually joined, especially when a host provides multiple profiles or worlds.
- In game, include the leading slash:
/AdminPassword .... In a web console, use the console’s documented form, which may omit it.
A player command targets nobody
Run /ShowPlayers again and copy the current SteamID. A display name, a mistyped identifier, or an entry for a player who has already disconnected will not identify the intended target.
The command is rejected in a web console
Authenticate with the Admin/RCon password requested by that panel and remove the leading slash if the panel expects console syntax. The hosting implementation documented on 10 June 2026 uses save, not /save, as its example.
You need to reverse an action
A ban has a specific reversal command: /UnBanPlayer <SteamID>. A kick can be followed by a new connection when no ban applies. Teleports are positional changes rather than access restrictions, so move the affected player again only after confirming the correct SteamID and destination. A forced stop has no equivalent “undo” command; restart the server through its normal hosting controls.
