These steps follow the MBUX procedure in the 2023 CLA Coupe operator’s manual. Other Mercedes vehicles may use different menus; use the matching owner’s manual if the labels or screen layout differ.

On the vehicle display, open Home, then Phone.

Compare the pairing code shown on the vehicle display with the code on your phone. Confirm on the phone only if the codes match.

Bluetooth pairing and Android Auto are different
Bluetooth pairing establishes a phone-to-car connection for functions such as calls and media. Android Auto is a separate smartphone-integration mode that brings supported phone apps to the vehicle display. Pairing a phone over Bluetooth does not by itself set up Android Auto.

For wired Android Auto, the 2025 CLA Saloon manual specifies connecting a suitable cable to a USB port in the multimedia system. That cable instruction applies to wired Android Auto, not ordinary Bluetooth pairing; available integration options depend on the vehicle. What to check if the phone does not appear

Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on the phone.

Check that vehicle Bluetooth is active, then repeat the search from the car’s phone or device-connection menu.

If the car and phone display pairing codes, compare them before authorizing the connection. Do not confirm if they differ.

Mercedes-Benz Group says the MBUX voice assistant can explain vehicle functions, including connecting a smartphone by Bluetooth.
