To connect Sennheiser headphones, put the exact model into Bluetooth pairing mode, then choose its name in your phone, tablet, or computer’s Bluetooth menu. Turning on Bluetooth on the source device alone does not make the headphones discoverable: the headphones must also be in pairing mode, and the control varies by model.
Before pairing, identify your headphone model
Find the model name on the headphones or packaging, or in the companion app if you use one. Then open Sennheiser’s headband headphones support hub or the support page for your specific product and follow its manual. Sennheiser’s range includes headband headphones and true wireless earbuds, and their pairing controls are not interchangeable.

Pair the headphones with your device
- Open Bluetooth settings on your phone, tablet, or computer. Turn Bluetooth on and leave the device list open so you can select the headphones when they appear.
- Put the headphones into pairing mode using the control for your model. The examples below show why it is important to check the exact instructions.
- Select the headphones in the Bluetooth device list. Confirm the connection using the prompt or indicator specified in that model’s guide; voice prompts and lights differ.
HD 450BT
For the HD 450BT, press and hold the on/off button for four seconds to enter Bluetooth pairing mode, then select the headphones from your device’s Bluetooth list. The HD 450BT instruction manual also describes a pairing-list deletion procedure that leaves this model in pairing mode.

ACCENTUM True Wireless
ACCENTUM True Wireless enters pairing mode when first powered on. To start pairing manually, hold both earbuds’ touchpads for at least three seconds, then select “ACCENTUM TW” in the Bluetooth list. See the ACCENTUM True Wireless FAQ for the model-specific steps.
#1 Best Overall
- Audiophile tuning: Sennheiser’s in-house 42 mm transducer and refined acoustic design deliver a neutral audiophile sound with lifelike mids, stunning detail, and a wide, natural soundstage. With minimal digital processing ensuring pure fidelity true to the original recording.
- Wireless or wired: Enjoy high-resolution wireless sound with support for aptX HD and aptX Adaptive, especially when paired with the included BTD 700 Bluetooth adapter. For maximum purity, connect via USB-C for lossless listening up to 24-bit/96 kHz.
- Parametric EQ: Expert-level equalization lets you define frequency bands, widths, and filters to precisely shape your sound. Tailor bass, enhance vocals, or fine-tune for any genre, just like a mastering engineer.
- Adaptive ANC & Transparency Mode: Powerful noise cancellation blocks distractions without degrading clarity, dynamics, or balance. Transparency Mode instantly lets in surrounding sounds when you need to stay aware.
- Listen for days, not hours: A class-leading 60-hour battery keeps you going through long trips or work weeks. Just 10 minutes of fast charging adds up to 7 hours of playtime, ideal for when you’re on the move.
If the headphones do not appear or connect
Work through these checks before trying a reset:
- Make sure the headphones are charged and are actually in pairing mode, not simply switched on.
- If the device has paired with the headphones before, remove the old headphone entry from the phone or computer’s Bluetooth list, then try pairing again.
- Disconnect other devices that may already have an active connection to the headphones.
- Restart the smartphone if pairing still fails. Sennheiser’s ACCENTUM True Wireless guidance also recommends charging the earbuds before retrying.
These steps can help with common connection problems, but they do not guarantee a fix for every compatibility, firmware, or hardware issue. If the headphones still will not connect, use the support page and manual for that model or contact Sennheiser support. General troubleshooting and charging guidance is available from Sennheiser Hearing Support.
Know the difference between a reset and deleting pairings
Do not assume that a reset clears the Bluetooth pairing list. On ACCENTUM Wireless, the manual says a 20-second hold of the main button resets the headphones while preserving pairing settings; the pairing list is deleted through the Smart Control app. The HD 450BT has its own pairing-list deletion sequence, and the manual says, “The headphones then stay in Bluetooth pairing mode” after that procedure. These instructions apply to those specific models, not the full Sennheiser range. Check your model’s manual before resetting or deleting saved pairings.

No extra product is inherently required to pair headphones. If they need charging, Sennheiser’s guidance says current headband models use USB-C and older models use Micro-USB, but connector type depends on the model. Check the manual before choosing a cable; do not infer the connector from the brand alone.
