What the Pac-Man contribution graph does
The project turns contribution-calendar data into an animated SVG. Its README says it fetches contribution data, maps contribution-intensity levels to a grid, applies game logic to that grid, and exports the animation. The project describes those intensity levels as relative to each user’s contribution pattern; this is the project’s explanation of its approach, not an independently verified technical assessment.

Because the animation is displayed in a profile README, it changes how the calendar is presented rather than erasing or rewriting GitHub activity. Scott describes Pac-Man eating the graph while ghosts pursue him, with the displayed dots reflecting what he has shipped.
How Scott says he set it up
Scott’s DEV Community post credits the abozanona project and describes two pieces: a workflow file in his profile repository and an image snippet in the README. The post says the workflow rebuilds the animation nightly. The repository itself describes daily updating and says a run can be started manually from the Actions tab. Those are the post’s and project documentation’s descriptions; Scott’s specific workflow configuration has not been independently verified.

The project README documents several integration routes. It does not compare them for ease, performance, or maintenance, so choose based on how you want to include or refresh the graphic.

Pac-Man is one of several game choices
The same project README lists other arcade-style contribution visualizations, including Breakout, Galaga, Puzzle Bobble, Bomberman, and Minesweeper. The game changes the visual treatment; the underlying idea remains an animated display built from contribution data. The README describes the available games and integration options in the project documentation.
