Oxide Computer Company announced a $445 million Series D on Oct. 9, 2026, led by Eclipse. The company says it will use the funding to secure components, expand manufacturing and serve new and existing customers as demand for its rack-scale systems exceeds current production capacity.

Why did Oxide raise $445 million?

Oxide says the capital will support component procurement and increased manufacturing so it can fulfill customer demand. CEO and co-founder Steve Tuck said the company had scaled manufacturing capacity 20 times over the previous 12 months, yet demand still exceeded supply. The announcement does not define the capacity measure or its baseline, so the figure is best understood as Oxide’s reported operating context rather than an independently verified production metric. The company also reported that it reached profitability earlier in 2026. The release does not provide audited financial statements, revenue, profit figures, or details of that milestone; it should not be read as a disclosure of financial performance beyond Oxide’s statement.

What does enterprise-owned cloud infrastructure mean?

It means the organization owns and operates infrastructure in its own data center while seeking cloud-style automation and agility. Oxide’s proposition is not simply a conventional server purchase: it is an integrated system intended to deliver a self-service cloud experience on premises, with the customer retaining control of its infrastructure.

That model also leaves the organization responsible for decisions and operations associated with owning its infrastructure. When evaluating it against rented public cloud, colocation or separately assembled on-premises equipment, buyers should weigh ownership and control, workload and data-location requirements, operational responsibility, procurement and deployment lead time, integration and support, and total cost over the expected useful life. The cited company materials do not provide comparable prices, benchmarks or total-cost figures, so they do not establish that Oxide is cheaper, faster, more secure or more energy-efficient than alternatives.

Can government agencies buy Oxide through Carahsoft?

Carahsoft and Oxide announced on Sept. 24, 2026, that Carahsoft would serve as Oxide’s Master Government Aggregator. The announcement says public-sector customers can access the system through Carahsoft reseller partners and the NASA SEWP V and OMNIA Partners contracts. This establishes a procurement channel; it does not provide a delivery schedule or establish an affiliate program or referral commission. Carahsoft’s announcement

What the funding announcement does—and does not—show

  • Announced: a $445 million Series D led by Eclipse, with existing and new investors identified by Oxide.
  • Oxide’s stated rationale: fund component procurement and manufacturing expansion amid demand the company says exceeds current capacity.
  • Company-reported operating claims: profitability earlier in 2026 and 20-times manufacturing-capacity growth over the preceding 12 months; the release supplies neither underlying financials nor a definition of the capacity measure.
  • Not disclosed in the cited announcement: valuation, revenue, profit amount, customer count, shipment volume, product pricing or delivery dates.
