What changes with the cameras?
The rear-camera layouts differ in the kind of hardware they include. Reno15c has a main, ultra-wide and macro camera. Reno16c replaces the macro camera in that listed set with a 50MP telephoto camera offering 3.5x optical zoom, while retaining a main and ultra-wide camera. That makes the Reno16c the model with a dedicated telephoto lens on OPPO’s published specifications; it does not establish which phone takes better photos overall.
For video, OPPO’s Reno15c launch notice advertises 4K HDR recording up to 60fps on the front and main cameras. The Reno16c detail table lists 4K video at 30fps. These are manufacturer-listed recording modes, not independent video-quality tests; confirm the exact variant and software availability before relying on a mode.

Display, processor and battery differences
Display
OPPO specifies a 6.57-inch flat FHD+ AMOLED with 10-bit colour for Reno15c, and describes its brightness as up to 1400 nits peak. For Reno16c, OPPO lists a 16.69cm AMOLED panel at 2372 × 1080, up to 120Hz and 397 PPI, with 1400 nits HBM. The brightness labels are not identical, so the matching 1400-nit figures should not be treated as a direct brightness test under the same measurement conditions.
Processor
Reno15c uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1; Reno16c uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy. The chipset names alone do not establish which phone is faster in everyday use or demanding apps. No independent benchmark or side-by-side performance test is established by the cited product material.
Rank #3
- 6.59 inches, AMOLED, 1B colors, 1256 x 2760 pixels
- 512GB Storage, 8GB RAM
- Android 16, ColorOS 16, Qualcomm SM7750-AB Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 (4 nm), Octa-core (1x2.8 GHz Cortex-720 & 4x2.4 GHz Cortex-720 & 3x1.8 GHz Cortex-520)
- Rear: 50 MP, f/1.8, 26mm (wide), PDAF, OIS, 50 MP, f/2.8, 80mm (telephoto), PDAF, OIS, 3.5x optical zoom, 8 MP, f/2.2, 15mm, 116˚ (ultrawide), 1/4.0", 1.12µm, AF, Front: 50 MP, f/2.0, 18mm (ultrawide), AF
Battery and charging
OPPO lists both phones with a 7000mAh battery and 80W SUPERVOOC charging. It gives Reno16c capacity as 7000mAh typical and 6850mAh rated. These are manufacturer specifications, not a real-world battery-life comparison. OPPO’s Reno15c launch notice also claims a 10-minute charge can provide up to 5.4 hours of WhatsApp or YouTube use and that a full charge takes approximately 64 minutes; these are manufacturer-reported use-case figures, not independent test results.
Which one makes more sense for you?
- Consider Reno15c if: its available price and 256GB configurations suit your budget, and a macro camera is more relevant to you than a dedicated telephoto lens. OPPO also lists IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings for this model.
- Consider Reno16c if: you want the listed 3.5x optical telephoto hardware, or need the 128GB option shown in OPPO’s India configurations.
- Do not decide on performance or endurance from specifications alone: the published chipset, battery-capacity and charging figures do not provide independent comparative test results.
Check the market and model before buying
This comparison is for India-market phones. OPPO identifies the Reno16c 5G India model as CPH2859 and warns that Reno16 series products sold in other countries may differ in specifications or price. Check the model number and local listing, especially if buying an imported phone; prices and features from another market may not apply to the India version. OPPO’s India Reno15c product page and Reno16c product page also note that features or specifications may vary.

What the published comparison cannot tell you
OPPO’s specifications support a comparison of listed hardware, configurations and stated prices, but they do not establish a tested winner for camera quality, speed, battery life or charging experience. Those outcomes require comparable testing. Retail prices may also differ from OPPO’s stated figures or change after their publication dates.
