OPPO Reno15 C vs Reno16: Which Specs Justify the Price Gap?

Reno16 5G adds a 50MP optical telephoto and a higher-tier listed chipset; Reno15c offers a larger screen and battery. Compare their specifications and dated India prices.

In India, the OPPO Reno16 5G (model CPH2865) is the better fit if you want a dedicated telephoto camera, a more capable listed chipset and a smaller screen. The OPPO Reno15c makes a stronger case for a larger display and battery at a substantially lower launch price. This is a comparison of the India-market phones; “Reno16” here means Reno16 5G CPH2865, not the separate Reno16c 5G (CPH2859). OPPO notes that Reno16 models sold in other countries may have different specifications and prices.

OPPO Reno15 C vs OPPO Reno16: specs comparison

The table uses OPPO-published specifications. They describe listed hardware and features, not independently tested camera quality, speed, battery life or durability.

Which phone has the better cameras?

Reno16 5G has more rear-camera reach

The Reno16 5G’s three 50MP rear cameras include a 3.5x optical telephoto lens with OIS and a 116° ultra-wide. That gives it dedicated hardware for zoomed-in shots and wide scenes. Reno15c’s listed rear setup instead pairs a 50MP main camera with an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro camera. On the published specifications, Reno16 5G offers more versatility across rear-camera views; the figures alone do not establish which phone produces better-looking photos.

Both have a 50MP front camera, with different stated features

Reno15c’s front camera is described as ultra-wide with a 100° field of view. OPPO’s launch announcement says both its front and main cameras record 4K HDR video up to 60fps. Reno16 5G’s front camera also has a stated 100° field of view, plus autofocus; its details page lists 4K recording up to 60fps and 4K HDR. So 60fps video is not a Reno16-only feature, and the available specifications do not establish a real-world video-quality winner.

How different are their screens, batteries and performance?

Reno15c has the larger screen and battery

At 6.57 inches, Reno15c has the larger display. Reno16 5G’s 6.32-inch screen is more compact and has the higher listed HBM brightness, 1,800 nits versus Reno15c’s peak 1,400 nits. The phones may suit different preferences: more screen area on Reno15c, or a smaller device with higher stated HBM brightness on Reno16 5G.

Reno15c’s listed 7,000mAh battery is 300mAh larger than Reno16 5G’s 6,700mAh typical capacity. That capacity difference does not translate directly into a guaranteed amount of extra use time; no comparable battery-life test is established here. Both phones list 80W SUPERVOOC charging.

Reno16 5G has the newer, higher-tier listed chipset

OPPO lists the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 for Reno16 5G and the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 for Reno15c. This makes Reno16 5G the stronger choice on the published chipset specification, but it is not a benchmark or proof of a particular gaming or everyday-speed advantage.

Durability ratings are not a damage guarantee

OPPO publishes IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings for Reno15c, and those three plus IP69K for Reno16 5G. These are manufacturer-listed ratings; they do not establish warranty coverage for liquid damage or predict how either phone will fare after a drop.

What is the OPPO Reno15c vs Reno16 price difference in India?

The price gap depends on which dated OPPO price list you use. The launch-to-launch comparison is like-for-like by configuration. OPPO later listed higher Reno16 5G prices on its product details page, so those figures should not be silently combined with launch prices as if they were one current quote.

Configuration Reno15c launch price Reno16 5G launch price Launch-to-launch difference Reno16 5G details-page price Difference vs Reno15c launch price
8GB+256GB ₹34,999 ₹61,999 ₹27,000 ₹66,999 ₹32,000
12GB+256GB ₹37,999 ₹67,999 ₹30,000 ₹72,999 ₹35,000

OPPO’s Reno15c launch announcement lists its two launch prices; OPPO’s Reno16 series launch announcement lists Reno16 5G at ₹61,999 and ₹67,999, with sales starting 9 July 2026. The later Reno16 5G details page lists ₹66,999 and ₹72,999 and states that its prices are inclusive of taxes and correct as of 31 August 2026, subject to change. At each matched tier, that details-page price is ₹5,000 above the Reno16 launch price. The last column compares different dates, not like-for-like current-market prices. Check OPPO or retailers for live prices and offers before buying.

Which is better: OPPO Reno15c or Reno16?

  • Choose Reno16 5G if a dedicated 3.5x optical telephoto camera, higher-resolution ultra-wide, smaller display or the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 specification matters most to you.
  • Choose Reno15c if you prefer a larger display and battery, want its stated 4K HDR recording on both front and main cameras, or are prioritizing the lower listed launch price.
  • Compare carefully if camera quality or battery life is decisive: the published specifications show hardware differences, not independent tests that prove image quality or endurance.
