It is less compelling for demanding gaming or for reliably sharp low-light and moving-subject photos. This review draws on Tech Advisor’s July 25, 2024 hands-on review and OPPO’s published specifications; we did not test a handset. Which OPPO Reno12 Pro is this review about?
This is the global OPPO Reno12 Pro 5G, model CPH2629—not necessarily the differently configured China-market Reno12 Pro. OPPO lists different network-band versions, so confirm the exact model and carrier compatibility in your region before purchasing. OPPO’s global specifications identify the global model and its listed configurations.

What are the Reno12 Pro’s main pros and cons?
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Distinctive finish and a relatively slim, light body: OPPO lists approximately 180–181g and 7.40–7.45mm, depending on color. | Gaming performance is a weakness in Tech Advisor’s reported Genshin Impact trial. |
| 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with up to 120Hz refresh; Tech Advisor praised the display. | The reviewer observed weaker low-light results and blur with moving subjects. |
| Four-camera arrangement, including a 2x telephoto and autofocus selfie camera; daylight main and telephoto shots were useful in the review. | Image quality diminished beyond 5x in the reviewer’s experience. |
| Useful AI editing and productivity tools, subject to regional and software availability. | No 3.5mm headphone socket; use USB-C audio or wireless headphones. |
| Fast wired charging support and storage-card expansion. | The UK review package lacked a charger, and AI features may depend on region, internet access or an account. |
How good are the design and display?
The phone’s look and screen are among its clearest strengths. OPPO lists a 6.7-inch flexible AMOLED panel with 2412 × 1080 resolution and refresh up to 120Hz. Its specifications give a maximum configurable brightness of 600 nits and a maximum sunshine brightness of 1200 nits; these are manufacturer figures, not measurements from the review. Tech Advisor singled out the quad-curved display as a highlight and praised the distinctive Nebula Silver finish.

OPPO lists the body at about 180–181g and 7.40–7.45mm, varying by color. Its June 2024 announcement describes an alloy frame and enhanced protection, while Tech Advisor lists an IP65 rating. Treat the material and protection language as manufacturer claims and the rating as a reported specification—not as evidence of independent drop testing.
Are the cameras good enough?
The global specification lists a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, an 8MP ultrawide, a 50MP telephoto camera and a 50MP autofocus front camera. Rear video recording reaches up to 4K at 30fps; the ultrawide has different video limits from the other rear cameras. Resolution and camera count do not guarantee consistent results across conditions.
Daylight and zoom
Tech Advisor found the main and 2x telephoto cameras useful in daylight, with sharp, colorful results. The dedicated telephoto gives the setup more flexibility than a phone relying only on a main camera and digital crop.

Low light and moving subjects
The same reviewer reported weaker low-light photos and blur when subjects moved. Quality also declined beyond 5x. If you often photograph children, pets, sports or night scenes, those observations matter more than the headline megapixel counts.
How fast is it, and is it suitable for gaming?
The global model uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300-Energy chipset. OPPO described it at launch as a 4nm co-developed platform, but that label alone does not establish how demanding games will run.
In Tech Advisor’s Genshin Impact trial, the reviewer needed the lowest graphics preset to maintain a stable 30fps and observed jitters at higher settings. This is one reviewer’s result in that test, not a universal benchmark or a guarantee for every game and software version. It points to a phone better suited to everyday use than to buyers prioritizing demanding mobile gaming.

What about battery, charging and storage?
OPPO lists a 5000mAh typical battery capacity (4880mAh rated) and SUPERVOOC 2.0 support. Its June 2024 launch announcement describes 80W SUPERVOOC charging. Charging output and time can vary with conditions, and the maximum speed depends on compatible charging equipment.
Tech Advisor’s UK review package did not include a charger; the reviewer said the official charger is needed for maximum speed. OPPO says box contents may vary, so check what comes with the exact regional package rather than assuming either that a charger is included or that every buyer needs to purchase one.
OPPO lists 12GB of RAM with 256GB or 512GB storage options and storage-card support on the global specification page. A particular market may offer only some configurations. Verify the specific SKU and card compatibility before relying on expandable storage.

Are the AI features useful?
OPPO promotes AI editing and productivity features, and Tech Advisor found some tools useful. Availability depends on region and software, and OPPO notes that some features may require an internet connection or account. Confirm that the features you want are available on the specific phone and in your location; the feature page’s caveats are available from OPPO.
How much did it cost, and is it good value now?
The available prices are historical, not current offers. Tech Advisor reported a UK/Europe launch-time price of £499/€549 in its 2024 review. Notebookcheck reported a German RRP of €599 for the base memory version and marketplace pricing around €430 at its August 30, 2024 review date. Neither source establishes the phone’s price or availability in 2026.
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

Tech Advisor’s 2024 competitor mentions reflected that period’s UK pricing and should not be treated as a current comparison.
Verdict: should you buy the OPPO Reno12 Pro?
Consider it if you want a polished, distinctive design, a smooth AMOLED screen, everyday camera flexibility and useful AI conveniences—and the current price is competitive in your market. Look elsewhere if gaming speed, dependable low-light or action photography, or a current flagship-class processor is your priority. That verdict reflects Tech Advisor’s reported 2024 experience alongside OPPO’s official specifications, not a new independent test.
