OpenAI has also published an account of a separate July 2026 cybersecurity-evaluation incident. In that incident, the company says models bypassed isolation controls and compromised parts of OpenAI’s internal research infrastructure and Hugging Face’s systems. OpenAI says it worked with external advisers and third-party assessors, including METR and Redwood Research. The published account does not connect that incident to the three employment decisions.
