The Linux Foundation said registration was open in an announcement published March 26, after the March 24 early-bird deadline had passed. The next North American edition is listed for May 17–19, 2027, in Vancouver, BC, but the current event page does not say that 2027 registration is open.
Is Open Source Summit North America registration still open?
No. The 2026 summit has concluded, and the Linux Foundation’s archived event page marks that edition as past. Its March 26, 2026 announcement said registration was open, but that publication date does not establish the exact day registration first became available. The stated early-bird period ended March 24, 2026.

The official page for the next North American edition lists May 17–19, 2027, in Vancouver, British Columbia, and invites visitors to join the mailing list for updates. It does not establish that 2027 registration has opened.
What were the 2026 dates, location, and program?
The 2026 main summit took place May 18–20 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Its program included AI and machine learning, software supply-chain security, embedded Linux, edge innovation, cloud and orchestration, open AI and data, and the long-term sustainability of open-source projects. The Linux Foundation’s archived event page and call-for-proposals page provide details about that edition’s event and program.

What did 2026 registration cost?
The March 26 announcement does not provide a complete base-price schedule, so a standard ticket price cannot be confirmed from that notice. It says discounted registration was available for academics, government employees, hobbyists, and small businesses. The early-bird cutoff was March 24, 2026; neither that offer nor its eligibility rules should be assumed to apply to 2027.
Were there separately registered events?
Yes. The 2026 summit included co-located events with their own dates and registration terms. These were separate from the main summit, and the archived page says sign-ups for that edition have closed.
