Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →For a 24/7 loop of prerecorded video, OneStream Live’s dedicated cloud workflow is the closer fit; for a broadcast you build live with scenes, a webcam, or external audio/video gear, OBS is the more suitable tool. The trade-off is who operates the stream: OneStream schedules prerecorded playback in the cloud, while OBS encodes from your computer and depends on its power, workload, and network. Neither cited source set establishes which delivers better measured uptime for a particular creator.
Which should you choose?
| Decision | Better fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Keep prerecorded videos looping on YouTube with minimal local operation | StreamNeo | It runs the loop from the cloud, supports uploaded videos and playlists, and offers any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot; the first day is free. |
| Use OneStream Live’s documented dedicated 24/7 workflow | OneStream Live | Its cloud workflow is designed to schedule prerecorded video for YouTube, subject to the plan and duration conditions below. |
| Produce a live show from custom scenes, a webcam, capture card, or other local sources | OBS | OBS runs on your computer and gives you control over the live production and encoder settings. |
This is a workflow comparison, not a reliability ranking. OneStream describes a cloud-managed prerecorded workflow; OBS is local encoding software. The cited material contains no independent, named uptime comparison between them.

How OneStream Live’s 24/7 workflow works
OneStream’s dedicated 24/7 feature loops prerecorded material for YouTube. Its Help Center article, last updated September 3, 2026, says the feature is YouTube-only, requires an Enterprise plan, and allows a scheduled stream to run for up to 30 days. After that, continuing requires scheduling another stream. See OneStream’s 24/7 streaming instructions.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →- Choose the 24-hour stream option in OneStream.
- Add prerecorded videos from your device or storage.
- Connect the YouTube channel you want to broadcast to.
- Enter the stream details, select the duration, and schedule the broadcast.
- Check the stream in YouTube and OneStream before relying on it for a long run.
OneStream’s wider platform can also accept encoder input such as OBS, but that is a separate workflow from its dedicated prerecorded 24/7 feature. The overview says prerecorded streams can be scheduled up to 60 days ahead; that is advance scheduling lead time, not the maximum duration of one 24/7 stream. The overview also describes the broader service as supporting 45+ social platforms and custom RTMP destinations, but that count does not apply to the YouTube-only 24/7 feature. See OneStream’s product overview.

Check eligibility and total cost before paying
There is a mismatch in OneStream’s published plan information: the Help Center says 24/7 streaming requires Enterprise, while the pricing page displays a 24-hour YouTube stream add-on. The available information does not establish whether that add-on alone makes the feature available on every plan or whether other account conditions apply. Verify eligibility and the full recurring price with OneStream before purchase. Pricing and included bandwidth or storage can change. The pricing page checked October 3, 2026 displayed Free, Basic at $15/month, Standard at $39/month, Professional at $49/month, Enterprise at $139/month, and a 24-hour YouTube stream add-on at $30/month; these are time-sensitive displayed prices, not a guarantee of current checkout terms. See OneStream’s pricing page.
When OBS is the better choice
OBS Studio is a local production and encoding tool. It suits broadcasts assembled from scenes and sources on your computer, such as a webcam, screen capture, capture card, or external audio/video hardware. YouTube lists encoder streaming as useful for screen sharing, external equipment, and advanced productions; see YouTube’s encoder streaming guidance.

To keep an OBS stream running, the computer must remain on with OBS active and the network connection maintained. A “streaming PC” is therefore an operating cost to consider, but there is no universal hardware specification: capacity depends on the encoder, resolution, frame rate, scene complexity, and other workload. OBS’s system requirements page, dated August 25, 2021, cautions that a compatible system does not guarantee it can stream or record a chosen workload. Check current requirements for your operating system and test your actual scenes and settings before depending on them. See OBS system requirements.
Basic OBS-to-YouTube setup
- In YouTube Studio, create or open the live stream and copy its stream key. Keep the key private; anyone who obtains it may be able to send a stream to your channel.
- In OBS, open Settings > Stream, select YouTube as the service, and paste the stream key. OBS also supports a custom streaming server where applicable.
- Open Settings > Output and configure the encoder and bitrate for your upload connection and chosen output. OBS does not have one universally safe bitrate for every resolution, frame rate, encoder, and connection.
- Open Settings > Video and choose the output resolution and frame rate your computer and connection can sustain. More pixels and frames increase encoding and upload load.
- Set keyframe interval and other encoder values to match the current requirements shown by YouTube for your chosen format. Confirm them in YouTube’s live encoder guidance rather than relying on an old preset.
- Under OBS’s advanced or stream connection options, enable automatic reconnect if available in your version. Test the connection, scene transitions, audio, and recovery behavior before scheduling or promoting a long broadcast.
- Start streaming in OBS and confirm that YouTube Studio receives the signal before making the broadcast public or relying on it to continue.
OBS’s overview covers service or custom server selection, stream keys, bitrate, recording settings, and automatic reconnect; it recommends testing configuration and available resources before going live. Exact labels can vary by OBS version. See OBS Studio overview.

Reliability: cloud scheduling versus local operation
OneStream’s cloud scheduling avoids having your own OBS computer encode the prerecorded loop. OBS can automatically reconnect, but that does not keep a failed computer powered or repair a disrupted home connection. Neither fact proves that one service is universally more reliable, and “24/7” should not be read as a quantified uptime guarantee.
OBS’s troubleshooting guidance says dropped frames can mean the connection to the remote server is unstable or the configured bitrate is beyond what the connection can sustain. Its suggested responses include reducing bitrate and investigating the connection. See OBS stream connection troubleshooting.

Common problems and fixes
- OBS shows dropped frames: Check whether the connection is unstable or the bitrate exceeds sustainable upload capacity. Test the network and lower the bitrate if needed.
- The computer struggles while streaming: Reduce the workload by adjusting resolution, frame rate, encoder choice, or scene complexity, then test again. Meeting basic system requirements alone does not establish capacity for your setup.
- YouTube does not receive the OBS signal: Check that OBS is pointed at the intended service or server and that the stream key is current and pasted correctly. Treat the key as a secret.
- A OneStream 24/7 stream is unavailable on your account: Confirm current plan eligibility and whether the add-on shown on the pricing page applies to your account; the help and pricing pages describe access differently.
- A OneStream loop reaches its scheduled end: Its help article states a maximum of 30 days for one scheduled 24/7 stream. Schedule another stream if you need to continue.
Copyright and YouTube channel considerations
Using prerecorded content does not by itself establish that you have the rights to broadcast it. Use video, music, and other material you own or are authorized to stream, and check YouTube’s current rules for copyright and monetization before building a long-running playlist. Repeated or reused material may raise separate channel-policy issues; neither a cloud service nor OBS changes your responsibility for the content or guarantees a monetization outcome.
OneStream’s terms, YouTube’s channel policies, and OBS settings are separate considerations: confirm the current rules for the channel and content you plan to run rather than assuming that a technically successful stream is automatically policy-compliant.
