Both OneStream Live and LiveReacting can turn prerecorded videos into a YouTube live stream, but their documented playlist workflows suit different schedules. OneStream Live supports ordered video queues and scheduled prerecorded streams; its help page says continuous 24/7 streaming is YouTube-only and requires Enterprise. LiveReacting documents both scheduled playlists and a separate continuous 24/7 mode. Choose based on whether you need finite scheduled runs or a channel that stays live, then check the current plan limits before subscribing. These are comparisons of official product documentation, not hands-on tests.
What “playlist streaming” means here
A playlist can mean either a queue of prerecorded videos that a service broadcasts as one live stream, or a YouTube playlist where viewers can later find the finished replay. Those are different things. OneStream Live describes queueing videos to play in sequence, and LiveReacting documents projects containing ordered videos. LiveReacting also lets users add a completed replay to YouTube playlists after a stream ends; that does not create the input playlist for the live broadcast.

| Need | OneStream Live | LiveReacting |
|---|---|---|
| Ordered prerecorded videos | Documents a queue of multiple videos played in a chosen sequence. | Documents a video-playlist project where you choose the video order. |
| Free playlist access | Its free plan excludes creating and streaming playlists. | Its free plan can test a short 24/7 workflow, but scheduled playlist runs require a paid plan. |
| Continuous 24/7 broadcast | The help page says 24/7 streaming is YouTube-only, requires Enterprise, and has a 30-day maximum per scheduled stream. The pricing page also lists a 24-hour YouTube streams add-on; verify how the add-on and plan requirements apply to your account. | Offers a separate 24/7 plan with no duration cap stated on its playlist page. The vendor says its cloud servers run the stream. |
| Finite scheduled runs | Can schedule prerecorded video up to 60 days in advance. | Can schedule streams on selected dates or repeat schedules; maximum run length depends on plan. |
| Computer during a prerecorded broadcast | Its prerecorded workflow is cloud-based. | The vendor says prerecorded and 24/7 streams run on its servers, so your computer can be off. |
| Destinations | The service describes 45+ destinations overall, but its 24/7 help page limits that mode to YouTube. | The platform lists YouTube, Twitch, Kick, and 30+ platforms overall; destination availability depends on plan. |
| Replay organization | Confirm the desired replay behavior in YouTube Studio and the OneStream setup. | Can add a resulting YouTube replay to playlists after the stream ends; this is separate from the broadcast’s input playlist. |
Feature and destination statements in this table are vendor documentation, not independent performance comparisons. Neither source establishes that one service will deliver more viewers, watch time, or reliability for a particular channel.

Which service fits your schedule?
Choose OneStream Live for queued or scheduled broadcasts
OneStream is a fit to investigate if you want to line up prerecorded videos or schedule a finite broadcast in advance. Its documentation says prerecorded streams can be scheduled up to 60 days ahead. Do not assume its free plan can run a playlist: the published free-plan limits explicitly exclude playlists.
For continuous streaming, OneStream’s current 24/7 help page says the feature is exclusive to YouTube, requires Enterprise, and allows up to 30 days per scheduled stream. Its pricing page separately lists a $30/month 24-hour YouTube streams add-on. Because those pages describe both a plan requirement and an add-on, check the current pricing page and your checkout details rather than assuming the add-on replaces Enterprise.

Choose LiveReacting for scheduled playlists or its continuous mode
LiveReacting documents two distinct ways to use a playlist: scheduled runs that begin at chosen times and stop between runs, and a 24/7 mode that continues until stopped. Its published scheduling page lists these plan limits:
| LiveReacting plan | Scheduling described | Maximum run length |
|---|---|---|
| Free | No scheduling | 30 minutes |
| Small | One start time | 1 hour |
| Medium | Advanced scheduling | 3 hours |
| Large | Advanced scheduling | 8 hours |
| Enterprise | Advanced scheduling | 24 hours |
| 24/7 plan | Continuous mode | No duration cap stated |
LiveReacting says Medium and higher are needed for lists of dates or repeat schedules; Small supports one start time. These plan names and limits are from the vendor’s published page and may change. Prices for the required LiveReacting plan are not established by that page’s captured plan table; check its current pricing page rather than inferring a cost.

Prepare the content and destination
- Choose a workflow and check its limits. Decide whether the broadcast is one scheduled run, a recurring schedule, or continuous 24/7 streaming. Confirm that the plan permits playlists, the number and length of runs you need, and YouTube as a destination.
- Use videos you have the right to broadcast. LiveReacting advises using content you own or are licensed to stream. Copyright claims or other rights issues can interrupt a broadcast or affect the channel; a cloud service does not grant rights to music, footage, or other material.
- Prepare the YouTube live destination. Create or select the live stream in YouTube and follow the chosen service’s connection flow for the channel. Keep the stream key private; anyone with access to it may be able to broadcast to your channel.
- Build the input playlist in the streaming service. Add the prerecorded videos and arrange them in the intended order. Check each file’s duration and playback order before scheduling. This input queue is not the same as a YouTube playlist of replays.
- Set the schedule or continuous mode. For a finite stream, select the start time and dates or recurrence supported by your plan. For an always-on channel, use the service’s 24/7 option and confirm its duration limit and YouTube-only or destination restrictions.
- Review the broadcast before it starts. Confirm the correct YouTube destination, playlist order, title and visibility, scheduled time zone, and whether the service will stop at the end or continue looping. Check the live preview and status in both the streaming service and YouTube.
- After the stream, check the replay separately. Confirm in YouTube Studio whether a replay was created and set any desired YouTube playlist organization. A stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured by YouTube as a replay, according to LiveReacting’s 24/7 guide citing YouTube’s limitation; do not rely on a full VOD for a longer continuous run.
What to know about YouTube and long broadcasts
- Replay capture is not guaranteed for very long streams. LiveReacting’s guide says YouTube may not capture streams longer than 12 hours as a replay. If retaining the full program matters, plan separate shorter sessions and verify replay availability in YouTube Studio.
- Viewers need the YouTube watch page for live chat. YouTube Help says live chat is available on YouTube watch pages, not embedded players. If you embed the stream elsewhere, direct viewers to the YouTube page for chat.
- Use properly cleared content. A playlist’s continuous playback does not change copyright obligations. Confirm that licenses cover live streaming and the intended territories and duration; platform tools cannot substitute for permission.
- Plan around outages and reconnects. Review the provider’s current recovery behavior and status indicators, and check YouTube Studio if the scheduled event is not actually live. Avoid assuming that a successful playlist setup guarantees uninterrupted playback.

Common problems and fixes
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Playlist creation or streaming is unavailable | The selected plan excludes playlist streaming or the chosen workflow. | Check the plan’s playlist and scheduling entitlements. OneStream’s free plan excludes playlists; LiveReacting’s Free plan does not include scheduled runs. |
| A scheduled playlist stops or will not accept the desired run length | The run exceeds the plan’s duration cap or uses scheduling features not included on that tier. | Compare the scheduled duration and recurrence with the current plan limits; LiveReacting’s published tiers have different maximum run lengths. |
| The stream does not appear live on YouTube | Wrong destination, stream key, scheduled event, or start time. | Confirm the selected channel and event, key, time zone, and live status in both the service dashboard and YouTube Studio. If the key may have been exposed, reset it in YouTube. |
| A long stream has no complete replay | YouTube may not capture a stream exceeding 12 hours as a replay. | Check YouTube Studio. If a complete archive is essential, schedule shorter broadcasts and confirm each resulting replay. |
| Playback is interrupted by a rights issue | A video, soundtrack, or other element is not cleared for the broadcast. | Use owned or licensed material and verify the license covers live streaming. Remove or replace disputed material and follow YouTube’s notices. |
| Viewers cannot use chat in an embedded player | YouTube live chat is limited to YouTube watch pages. | Link viewers to the YouTube watch page rather than relying on an embedded player for chat. |
