How do their displays differ?
Both phones have a 6.83-inch display, but they favor different specifications. The Nord 5’s listed 144Hz refresh rate is higher than the Redmi’s up-to-120Hz rate, which may appeal if smooth motion is a priority. Those are manufacturer or review specification figures, not a controlled comparison of how bright or smooth the phones look in every setting. Your preference may depend on how you use the screen and the exact display settings available on each regional model.
Camera differences: resolution is not the whole story
Rear cameras
Xiaomi’s global specifications list a 200MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide camera on the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G. The Nord 5 is listed with a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The Redmi’s higher main-camera resolution and OIS are useful specification advantages, but they do not by themselves prove it takes better photographs. Selfie cameras

Software descriptions differ by source and context. TechRadar’s Redmi review describes the reviewed phone at launch with HyperOS 2 based on Android 15, and reports four years of OS updates plus six years of security updates. Xiaomi India’s product page describes HyperOS 3 on Android 15 and says “4+6 years updates.” These regional and time-specific descriptions should not be treated as proof that every unit ships with the same software version.
TechRadar lists Android 15 with OxygenOS 15 for the Nord 5 review. Before buying either phone, confirm the installed software and the applicable update terms for the exact regional model; the available information here does not establish matching update durations for the Nord 5.
