Nothing’s lower effective price depends on a stated bank discount and exchange offer. The headline differences are the Nord 5’s advertised 144Hz display and 80W charging versus the Phone (4b)’s 120Hz adaptive display and 33W charging. These manufacturer specifications do not establish which phone performs better in real-world testing.
India price difference: compare the offers carefully
OnePlus India currently displays the Nord 5 “From ₹33,999.” Its visible product-page excerpt does not identify the storage configuration behind that starting price. Nothing’s 2026 announcement lists two Phone (4b) India configurations and distinguishes their MRPs from offer-dependent effective prices.

Which display matters more?
The Nord 5 has the higher advertised refresh-rate figure: 144Hz compared with the Phone (4b)’s adaptive 120Hz. A higher refresh rate can allow smoother motion in supported content, but it does not by itself show which screen looks better. Resolution, brightness, outdoor readability, calibration and how refresh rate is managed also matter; the cited specifications do not provide a controlled display comparison.
Battery capacity and charging are different trade-offs
OnePlus advertises a 6,800mAh battery and 80W charging for the Nord 5. Nothing specifies a 6,000mAh battery and 33W charging for the India Phone (4b). These are manufacturer-stated capacity and charging figures, not measured battery life or a direct charging-speed test. Nothing’s announcement gives a different 5,200mAh capacity for the global Phone (4b), so the 6,000mAh figure applies specifically to the India model.
Camera specifications do not identify a photo-quality winner
On paper, OnePlus advertises 50MP cameras on both the front and back and 4K 60fps video. Nothing lists a 50MP OIS main camera, a 119-degree ultra-wide camera, a 16MP front camera and 4K 30fps recording. Those differences describe resolution, stabilization, field of view and supported video modes; they do not establish which phone takes better photos or video. That requires comparable samples and controlled testing, which are not available in the cited sources.

Performance and gaming
OnePlus describes the Nord 5 as using a Snapdragon 8-series platform and promotes gaming performance. Nothing names Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 for the Phone (4b) and publishes game frame-rate claims. These are vendor statements; the available sources do not establish independent, sustained benchmark or gaming results for the two phones. Do not treat chipset family names or promotional frame-rate claims alone as a tested performance verdict.

Update commitments
OnePlus advertises four Android version upgrades and six years of security updates. Nothing says the Phone (4b) launches with Nothing OS 4.1 powered by Android 16 and receives three years of Android updates plus six years of security patches. These are the companies’ stated policies; check the applicable regional terms for the model you plan to buy.

- Consider the Nord 5 if its advertised 144Hz display, 50MP front-camera specification, 4K 60fps video mode or 80W charging best fits your priorities. These are feature-based reasons to compare it, not proof of better overall results.
- Consider the Phone (4b) if you prefer Nothing’s software and design experience, want the listed 8GB + 128GB or India-only 8GB + 256GB configuration, or can use its stated bank discount and exchange offer. Confirm offer eligibility and the final checkout price.
Nothing’s announcement says India sales begin on Flipkart from 14 July 2026, with named additional retailers from 17 July; it gives a global open-sale date of 17 July 2026. The Nothing India product page also presents an 8GB + 128GB configuration linked to Flipkart. Retail availability and discounts are time-sensitive, so verify them at purchase.
Neither manufacturer’s specification page settles the practical questions of camera quality, gaming stability, battery endurance or actual charging time. If those determine your choice, look for current independent tests of the India variants rather than inferring a winner from the spec sheet.
