OnePlus’ rumored “Mini” became real: 13T launched in China, 13s followed in India

OnePlus’s rumored compact flagship became the 13T in China and the 13s in India. Here’s what the original April 2025 report got right, what official specifications confirm, and what buyers outside those markets should check.

OnePlus’s rumored compact flagship became real, but its name depends on the market: it launched as the OnePlus 13T in China and the OnePlus 13s in India. The February 2025 report was broadly right about an April launch and a roughly 6.3-inch display, but “Mini” was never the official name, and the available official sources do not establish a U.S. launch.

What the original report got right

The February 2025 report described a compact OnePlus phone expected in April under the OnePlus 13T name, based on a leaked roadmap rather than an official announcement. OnePlus later released an official China specifications page for the 13T, listing a 6.32-inch display and Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. April timing was broadly right too: OnePlus introduced the 13s in India on April 28, 2025. That date does not, by itself, establish the exact Chinese unveiling date.

So the rumor was directionally accurate, but “Mini” was a media nickname, not a confirmed product name. The 13T name applies to China; India received the 13s.

Names and availability by market

Market Product name What official sources establish
China OnePlus 13T OnePlus lists the product and its specifications on its China site.
India OnePlus 13s OnePlus announced the 13s on April 28, 2025, and has an India product page.
United States No verified 13T or 13s listing The retrieved U.S. OnePlus pages list the OnePlus 13, not either compact model.

The 13T and 13s share the broad idea of a compact phone with flagship performance, but do not assume they are identical. Regional software, configurations, network support, warranty and other details can differ. The available evidence does not establish a broad global launch.

What is confirmed about the 13T

OnePlus’s China specifications page lists the following for the OnePlus 13T. These are China-market specifications; do not treat them as confirmed specifications for the India 13s.

Specification OnePlus 13T (China)
Display 6.32-inch flat display; 2640 × 1216 resolution; adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz
Processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite
Memory LPDDR5X RAM
Storage UFS 4.0; listed configurations range from 12GB + 256GB to 16GB + 1TB
Dimensions 150.81 × 71.70 × 8.15mm
Weight Approximately 185g

The retrieved official specifications establish those details, but not a complete software-version statement. Battery, charging and camera figures should not be filled in from leaks as though they were verified official specifications. Early coverage reported a 6,200mAh battery and 80W wired charging, but those claims should be attributed to reporting unless confirmed against the full official specification page.

Why a compact flagship mattered

Many flagship Android phones are large, leaving people who want one-handed use or a pocketable device with fewer choices. Compact models have often involved compromises in performance, battery capacity, charging or cameras. OnePlus framed the 13s as an effort to avoid some of those compromises, while the 13T’s official specifications confirm a small display paired with flagship-class silicon.

That does not mean screen size alone settles the buying decision. Camera hardware, sustained performance and heat, battery endurance, wireless charging and regional software experience all need to be judged from verified market-specific specifications and independent testing. The dossier does not establish those test results for these models.

How it compares with the standard OnePlus 13

The standard OnePlus 13 is a larger alternative, not simply another name for the compact model. OnePlus’s U.S. specifications list a 6.82-inch display and Snapdragon 8 Elite processor; the U.S. model also has a 6,000mAh battery, three 50MP rear cameras and 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.

Feature OnePlus 13T (China) OnePlus 13 (U.S.)
Display 6.32 inches 6.82 inches
Processor Snapdragon 8 Elite Snapdragon 8 Elite
Battery Not included here as an official verified figure 6,000mAh
Rear cameras Not compared; verify the 13T’s full official regional specifications 50MP main, 50MP ultrawide and 50MP 3× telephoto
Availability in the U.S. No verified U.S. listing Official U.S. product and specifications pages

The OnePlus 13R is different again: OnePlus’s North America announcement describes a larger 6.78-inch model with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, not the compact 13T/13s.

Should you import a OnePlus 13T?

A China-market phone is not automatically a safe substitute for a model officially sold where you live. Before importing, check the exact model number and carrier bands, Google Play and banking-app compatibility, software and update behavior, warranty and repair coverage, charger compatibility, and the seller’s return policy. Do not assume U.S. network compatibility or local warranty support from the existence of a separate U.S. OnePlus 13 listing.

  1. Confirm the exact model number and supported LTE and 5G bands with your carrier.
  2. Check Google services, banking apps, language support and regional software restrictions.
  3. Verify OTA update behavior and whether the bootloader or software has been modified.
  4. Ask whether warranty and repairs are available in your country.
  5. Compare the full landed cost and return terms, not just the overseas listing price.

OnePlus’s U.S. pages provide a clearer route for buyers who want an officially supported flagship, although the standard OnePlus 13 is substantially larger. The dossier does not provide current prices for these products, so check the relevant regional store before comparing costs.

Verdict

The early report anticipated a real compact OnePlus phone and correctly forecast the 13T name for China. The finished story is more specific: China got the OnePlus 13T, India got the OnePlus 13s, and the sources reviewed do not verify a U.S. launch. Treat “Mini” as a nickname, distinguish official specifications from leak-era claims, and check regional compatibility before considering an import.
