The OnePlus 15R has the larger display, a higher listed refresh-rate ceiling and a larger stated battery capacity. The Samsung Galaxy A57 5G has three rear cameras and Samsung India states support for up to six OS upgrades. Those published specifications do not establish which phone performs better in everyday use, lasts longer per charge or takes better photos—and the available prices do not support a current, like-for-like price difference.

Display: 15R has the larger listed screen and faster refresh ceiling
OnePlus lists a 6.83-inch display with 2800 × 1272 resolution and adaptive refresh rates up to 165Hz. The specifications retrieved for the Galaxy A57 do not establish matching display values, so a full numerical display comparison is not possible from these sources. A higher refresh-rate ceiling describes how often the screen can update; it does not by itself prove better color, brightness, outdoor visibility or overall image quality.

Chip, memory and storage: avoid an unsupported performance verdict
OnePlus lists the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, 12GB LPDDR5X Ultra memory and 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. Samsung India’s cited product page is for a Galaxy A57 with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, but the retrieved material does not provide a directly comparable chipset and memory row. Without comparable specifications or controlled testing, these figures are not enough to rank real-world speed or sustained performance.

Battery and charging: capacity is not battery life
OnePlus lists a typical 7,400 mAh battery (27.98 Wh) and 55W SUPERVOOC charging on its US specifications page. Samsung India lists a typical 5,000 mAh battery for the Galaxy A57. The larger stated capacity gives the 15R the higher paper figure, but capacity alone cannot establish how long either phone lasts: screen settings, workload, network conditions and software all affect endurance. The available information does not establish a comparable charging rate or regional adapter contents for the Galaxy A57.

Cameras: compare the hardware, not an assumed photo winner
The 15R has a listed 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8MP ultrawide. Samsung India lists a three-camera rear setup on the A57: 50MP wide, 12MP ultrawide and 5MP macro. That gives the Samsung a dedicated macro camera in the listed configuration; the 15R source does not list one. Megapixel counts and camera count do not demonstrate image quality, and no independent head-to-head camera test is established here.
Software support: Samsung states up to six OS upgrades
The OnePlus specifications page identifies OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16. Samsung India’s Galaxy A57 page states support for up to six OS upgrades. That is a stated Samsung upgrade commitment on the India product page, not a directly comparable support-duration statement for both devices. Check the applicable support terms for the exact model and market before treating the India commitment as universal.

Price difference: the available figures are not a current comparison
Samsung’s US announcement set a $549.99 unlocked starting price for the Galaxy A57 5G, with US availability beginning April 9, 2026. That is a launch figure, not a verified October 2026 street price. The OnePlus US specification page does not establish a price, so the evidence does not show which phone currently costs less or by how much.
Regional timing also differs: Samsung’s Japan newsroom announcement scheduled reservations for April 16, 2026 and sales for April 23, 2026. A US launch price cannot be used as a global price, and launch dates or pricing in one market do not establish current offers elsewhere. To calculate a meaningful difference, check both phones’ live prices in your country on the same date and for matching storage configurations.

Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the OnePlus 15R if the listed larger display, up-to-165Hz adaptive refresh rate, 7,400 mAh typical battery capacity or 512GB storage option matter most to you. These are specification advantages on paper, not proof of superior real-world results.
- Consider the Galaxy A57 5G if you want the listed wide, ultrawide and macro rear-camera arrangement or value Samsung India’s stated commitment of up to six OS upgrades. Confirm that the support terms apply to your region and variant.
- Choose on price only after checking local listings. The established Samsung US price is its April 2026 launch starting price, while a matching current OnePlus price is not established here.
