How much more does the Galaxy Z Fold8 cost?
At the listed US entry prices, the Fold8 costs $1,000 more than the OnePlus 15. That compares the OnePlus 12GB/256GB version with Samsung’s advertised Fold8 starting price, which is before trade-in. The difference is not a guaranteed checkout-price comparison: trade-in values, carrier offers, promotions, taxes, and the storage configuration you choose can change what you pay.
The OnePlus US page also lists a 16GB/512GB model at $999.99. Comparing that configuration with Samsung’s starting price leaves a $900 gap, but the available Samsung US starting-price figure does not establish an equivalent storage tier for a like-for-like comparison. Check the current price and storage option on both manufacturer pages before buying.

Which screen and design suit your use?
OnePlus 15: one large, conventional display
The OnePlus 15 has a single 6.78-inch, 2772 × 1272 display. Its adaptive refresh rate is listed as 1–120Hz, with up to 165Hz available in gaming. This layout gives you a large screen without unfolding the phone or switching between an outer and inner display.
Galaxy Z Fold8: a cover screen plus a larger inner screen
The Fold8’s 5.5-inch cover display is available while the phone is folded; opening it reveals a 7.6-inch main display. That gives you the option of a smaller outer screen for quick interactions and a larger canvas for reading, viewing, or using apps side by side. The larger unfolded screen is the defining practical difference, but it comes with foldable-specific limits discussed below.
Weight, battery, and charging: what the specifications establish
Samsung lists the Fold8 at 201g. OnePlus lists the OnePlus 15 at 211g or 215g depending on color, so the Fold8 is lighter by the listed figures. OnePlus also lists the larger battery capacity: 7,300mAh versus 4,800mAh.

Capacity alone cannot establish which phone lasts longer in everyday use. Samsung claims up to 26 hours of streaming for the Fold8; that is a manufacturer claim, not an independent comparative battery test. The supplied specifications do not establish a comparable OnePlus endurance figure.
Charging figures for the OnePlus 15 depend on region and source. The global specifications page lists 120W wired and 50W wireless charging, while the US product page lists 80W SUPERVOOC and says it can reach up to 100W with a specified OnePlus adapter. Do not treat the global 120W figure as a US promise. The US launch page says a charger is included; check the listing for your market and selected configuration for current box contents.

OnePlus lists three 50MP rear cameras, including a dedicated 3.5× optical telephoto camera as well as main and ultrawide cameras. Samsung describes two 50MP rear cameras: wide and ultrawide. The listed hardware shows that the OnePlus includes a dedicated telephoto lens; it does not establish which phone takes better photos. No comparable independent camera testing is established here.

Samsung states that the Galaxy Z Fold8 does not support the S Pen and does not support FlexMode. If either is part of your intended foldable workflow, those omissions matter before you choose the Fold8. Samsung’s product page lists the Fold8 at 4.5mm unfolded and 9.7mm folded.

Which phone makes more sense for you?
- Choose the OnePlus 15 if you want a conventional phone with one large display, a dedicated optical telephoto camera, and a lower US starting price. Its listed battery capacity is also larger, though that alone does not prove longer runtime.
- Consider the Galaxy Z Fold8 if you specifically want a foldable that opens to a 7.6-inch display and value having both an outer screen and an inner screen. Its listed starting price is substantially higher, and it lacks S Pen support and FlexMode.
- Compare final prices carefully if you plan to trade in a phone, buy through a carrier, or need a particular storage capacity. The advertised entry prices do not account for those variables.
These are specification-based distinctions. They do not establish which phone is faster, takes better photos, or lasts longer on a charge; those judgments require comparable independent tests.
