Which phone is better for your priorities?
Choose the 13s for a smaller phone and newer named processor
At 6.32 inches and 185 g, the 13s is the more compact option. Its Snapdragon 8 Elite is a newer named platform than the 13R’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. That specification difference alone does not establish how much faster either phone will feel in a particular app or workload; no independent side-by-side benchmark result is established here.
Choose the 13R for a larger display and documented ultrawide
The 13R’s 6.78-inch 1.5K, 120 Hz display gives you more screen area than the 13s’s 6.32-inch panel. Its official camera description also includes an 8 MP ultrawide, alongside a 50 MP main camera with OIS and a 50 MP 2× optical telephoto camera. OnePlus’s 13s page highlights a 50 MP wide camera and 50 MP 2× telephoto; the cited material does not establish an ultrawide for that model.
Rank #2
Consider battery figures as capacity, not a runtime verdict
The 13R is listed at 6,000 mAh typical capacity and 5,860 mAh rated capacity; the 13s is listed at 5,850 mAh. Both are listed with 80 W charging. Capacity figures do not show how long either phone lasts in your use: no comparable battery-runtime test is established here.
Use caution when comparing water resistance
OnePlus rates the 13R IP65. The cited official information does not establish an equivalent 13s rating, so do not assume the two have the same protection.

The 13s costs more for a compact 185 g body and Snapdragon 8 Elite. Choose based on size, camera needs, and the listed configuration that fits your budget; check OnePlus or retailers for current prices and availability before buying.
