The Omega OI64Z is a 60cm, four-zone induction cooktop with a frameless black glass surface, slide/touch controls and a hardwired electrical connection. Its published dimensions and features make it possible to assess whether it may suit your kitchen, but the available documentation does not establish real-world cooking performance: this is a specification-led review, not a hands-on test.
What the Omega OI64Z is—and what this review can establish
Omega’s specification sheet describes the OI64Z as a 60cm four-zone induction cooktop with frameless black ceramic glass and slide controls. The listed controls are slide/touch. The model number matters: the OI64Z is not the similarly named OCI64Z, and specifications published for the OCI64Z should not be applied to it.

The available product documents support an assessment of the OI64Z’s dimensions, zone layout, connection and listed functions. They do not provide a firsthand test, controlled comparison, measured cooking times, independent reliability evidence or verified user-review analysis. There is therefore no sound basis here to call it fast, quiet, durable, easy to clean or better value than another cooktop.

| Measurement | Omega OI64Z specification |
|---|---|
| Overall size | 590 mm wide × 520 mm deep × 53 mm high (Omega, specification sheet updated 18 January 2017) |
| Listed benchtop cutout | 560 mm wide × 490 mm deep (Omega, specification sheet updated 18 January 2017) |
A “60cm” description alone does not confirm that the cooktop will fit an existing opening. Compare the listed cutout with your benchtop and installation space, and check the physical appliance and its installation documentation before cutting or altering the benchtop. Omega’s sheet warns that dimensions may change and that drawings are indicative; it says the cutout should be based on physical product measurements.
#1 Best Overall
- 96 PRE-PROGRAMMED TEMPS - Select from the 6 convenient preset temperature settings or fine tune your own temperature from 100°F to 575°F in 5°F increments. You can also add or deduct cooking time at any time.
- SHATTER-PROOF CERAMIC GLASS – There are no open flames or hot coils that can cause burns. Unlike the competition, Gold’s heating surface is heavy-duty shatter-proof ceramic glass, which was rigorously tested to withstand intense heat without shattering. It is one of the safest cooktops in the market.
- MAKE ADJUSTMENTS ON-THE-FLY – Want hotter temperature or need to cook it longer? No problem. Simply adjust on-the-fly any time. Starting the cooking process over is not necessary. Gold induction cooktop’s intuitive digital controls are easy to operate, and the response is immediate.
- PRECISE TEMPERATURE CONTROL – With 96 precise temperatures at your fingertips, you can keep delicate sauces warm at 100°F to grilling a juicy steak with serious grill marks at 575°F. Nuwave Induction Cooktops are the first induction cooktops to revolutionize the industry by introducing precision temperatures to induction cooking.
- SAFETY BUILT-IN – Even if you forget, Gold will shut off automatically when the set cook time is completed. When there is no cookware on the cooktop, Gold will not start. There are no hot coils or open flames reducing the risk of burns.
Cooking zones and listed power
The OI64Z has two smaller and two larger zones, arranged diagonally in matching pairs:
| Position | Diameter | Listed power |
|---|---|---|
| Front-left | 165 mm | 1800 W |
| Rear-right | 165 mm | 1800 W |
| Front-right | 205 mm | 2500 W |
| Rear-left | 205 mm | 2500 W |
These are the individual zone ratings listed on Omega’s specification sheet, not measured cooking results. The sheet lists nine power levels plus Boost, but does not establish performance in a particular kitchen or with a particular pan.
Controls and listed functions
The specification sheet lists slide/touch controls and these functions:
- Nine power levels plus Boost and auto heat-up
- 99-minute timers for all zones and a minute minder
- Audible signals and a child lock
- Residual-heat indicator and pause function
- Pot detection and overflow detection
These are manufacturer-listed features; the documentation does not independently validate how they operate in use.

The OI64Z is listed as hardwired, with a 220–240 V, 50 Hz supply and maximum current of 32 A (Omega, specification sheet updated 18 January 2017). Appliances Online says installation requires a qualified electrician. The OI64Z manual likewise directs that the electrical connection be carried out by a qualified electrician in line with the guide and current regulations. Follow the requirements that apply where you live; this is not a plug-in appliance with a DIY wiring procedure.
What cookware works on the OI64Z?
Induction requires compatible cookware. Appliances Online specifies magnetic material, while the OI64Z manual calls for suitable induction pans with stable, flat bases. Check the pan for an induction symbol or consult its manufacturer; the available information does not establish that every pan made from a particular material or by a particular brand will work.
Warranty and details to verify before buying
Omega’s specification sheet updated 18 January 2017 states a 24-month parts-and-labour warranty. Treat that as the sheet’s stated warranty, not a guarantee of the terms attached to every current sale: confirm coverage and conditions with the seller for your purchase. The sheet says the product is made in Europe; it does not identify a specific country.

Verdict
The OI64Z’s published specifications describe a four-zone induction cooktop with two 165 mm, 1800 W zones and two 205 mm, 2500 W zones. It may suit a kitchen if the verified cutout and installation space work, a qualified electrician can provide the required hardwired connection, and your cookware is induction-compatible. Those checks are more useful than relying on the 60cm label alone; the available evidence does not support a performance or value verdict against competing models.
