A loop only repeats the media; the computer, internet connection, OBS, and YouTube connection still need to keep working.
Choose the playlist source that matches your files
For several bhajan videos, use OBS’s VLC Video source. It supports a playlist of files, with separate controls for looping and shuffling. VLC must be installed for this source to be available. OBS’s built-in Media Source has its own Loop control and is a simpler fit for repeating one file, not the documented multi-file playlist workflow. OBS Media Sources

Prepare the playlist
- Collect the audio and video files you have permission to stream. Play each file through first and arrange them in the intended order.
- In OBS, add a VLC Video source to the scene and populate its playlist with the files.
- Enable Loop Playlist so playback starts again after the last file. Leave Shuffle Playlist off for a predictable sequence; turn it on only if you want randomized playback.
- For a single file instead, add a Media Source and enable its Loop control.
Keep the scene simple if the stream is only a playlist: confirm the video or artwork is visible, the audio is audible, and no unrelated source covers it. The OBS media-source guide is dated January 11, 2022, so labels or details may differ in a later OBS release.
Connect OBS to YouTube Live safely
- Enable live streaming for your YouTube channel. YouTube says first-time enablement can take up to 24 hours, so do this before your planned launch. YouTube encoder setup
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule an encoder broadcast and open its stream settings in Live Control Room.
- In OBS, choose YouTube as the service if it is available, or enter the stream URL and stream key shown in Live Control Room. Prefer RTMPS when the encoder offers it. YouTube stream settings
- Treat the stream key like a password: do not put it in a public screenshot, recording, or message. If it is exposed, reset it in Live Control Room and update OBS with the replacement.
- For a scheduled stream, set its title, privacy, latency, DVR, and auto-start/auto-stop choices in YouTube Studio. Verify the behavior you want rather than assuming the defaults. A playlist stream is usually not interactive, so low latency may offer little benefit; YouTube cautions that lower latency can increase buffering. YouTube stream settings
Set OBS output for the source and your connection
There is no single bitrate preset that is right for every bhajan stream. Pick a resolution and frame rate that suit the source material and the computer, then use YouTube’s current encoder table for that combination. YouTube transcodes incoming live video into playback formats for viewers on different devices and networks; sending a higher-resolution feed is not automatically necessary for a static image or modest source. - Resolution and frame rate: Match the material where practical. Avoid choosing a higher setting solely because it is available if the source has no corresponding detail or the computer struggles to encode it.
- Video bitrate: Consult YouTube’s current table for the selected resolution and frame rate; do not copy a gaming-stream preset without checking that it applies.
- Upload capacity: Test sustained upload performance and leave headroom above the configured stream bitrate for normal network variation. A connection that only just meets the target can become unstable.
- Encoder: Use an encoder supported by the computer’s available hardware or software and verify it stays stable. No one encoder choice is suitable for every machine.
YouTube can update recommended settings, and the exact OBS controls depend on its installed version and the computer’s available encoders. Recheck YouTube’s guidance when configuring a new stream rather than treating a saved preset as permanent.
Test the complete broadcast before making it public
Run an unlisted test broadcast where appropriate. A test should cover the entire playlist cycle, not just the first song.

- Confirm each file plays in order and the last item returns to the first.
- Check that audio is present, at a comfortable level, and not distorted.
- Watch OBS for dropped frames and YouTube Live Control Room for stream health.
- Confirm the intended privacy and scheduled-broadcast settings.
- Check OBS’s automatic reconnect configuration and observe what happens after a brief network interruption.
OBS has configurable automatic reconnect, but a loop setting does not guarantee an uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast. The computer, media playback, network, and platform connection remain possible failure points. OBS Studio Overview Guide

Plan for interruptions and replay archives
A continuous broadcast longer than 12 hours may not be captured as a YouTube archive. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, warns that longer streams may not be captured at all, and recommends making a local recording as backup. Do not rely on one 24-hour broadcast to produce a complete replay. YouTube archive guidance

If viewers need a replay, consider ending and restarting as shorter broadcasts, or make a local recording and check disk capacity and the recording procedure before relying on it. Shorter segments mean the broadcast is not one uninterrupted stream; plan titles, restart steps, and any effect on viewers accordingly.
Clear the rights to the recording and visuals
Devotional or traditional subject matter does not automatically make a particular recording free to reuse. YouTube’s live-stream terms require the necessary rights for streamed content, including music licensing rights. Its copyright guidance says live broadcasts are scanned for third-party matches; a match can trigger a placeholder, interruption, or termination. - Use original, commissioned, or explicitly licensed recordings and visuals.
- Keep documentation showing what you may stream and on which channel.
- Check that permission covers the actual recording and arrangement, not just the underlying lyrics or composition.
- If a rights holder has a Content ID process, ask whether the channel must be allowlisted before going live.
Computer-based OBS or cloud playback?
Running OBS on a computer gives you control over scenes and a local playlist, but that computer and its network must stay operational continuously. A dedicated mini PC can serve as an always-on host, but hardware alone does not guarantee uninterrupted streaming; choose and validate any system against your own operating system, encoder, and workload needs.
