To loop one Telugu song in OBS, add it as a Media Source and enable Loop in the source properties. For a collection of songs, use VLC Video with a playlist and Loop Playlist. Those settings control playback only: before streaming, make sure you have the rights to use each recording on YouTube Live.
Choose the right OBS source

Loop one Telugu song with Media Source
- In OBS, select the scene where the song should play. In the Sources dock, click + and choose Media Source.
- Name the source if desired, then select the local song file in its properties.
- Turn on Loop. The documented default is off, so confirm the checkbox is enabled before going live.
- If you want playback to begin at the start when the source becomes visible, enable Restart playback when source becomes active. This is separate from Loop: it controls what happens when the source becomes active, not what happens at the end of the file.
- Click OK, then test the scene and listen to the audio in OBS before starting the YouTube stream.
Loop a playlist with VLC Video
- Install VLC if it is not already installed. If you use 64-bit OBS, install 64-bit VLC so OBS can make the source available.
- In the target scene’s Sources dock, click + and choose VLC Video.
- Add the song files to the playlist in the source properties, then check the track order.
- Confirm Loop Playlist is enabled if you want the tracks to repeat. OBS documents it as on by default. Shuffle Playlist is documented as off by default; enable it only if you want playback in shuffled order.
- Review Visibility Behaviour. The documented default stops playback when the source is not visible and restarts it when visible. Test any scene changes that might hide the source.
- Click OK and verify that the playlist plays and loops as intended before going live.
Keep playback working across scenes
A source can behave differently when it is hidden or inactive, so test the scene transitions you plan to use.

- Media Source: Close file when inactive unloads the file while the source is hidden or off the current scene. Reloading it may take time. If the audio should continue through a scene change, check this setting and test the transition.
- VLC Video: Check Visibility Behaviour; its documented default is to stop when hidden and restart when visible.
- Audio check: Confirm the source is audible in the OBS audio mixer and in a test stream or preview workflow that suits your setup. Looping a file does not itself verify that the stream is sending the intended audio.
Confirm music rights before going live
OBS playback settings do not grant permission to broadcast a song. YouTube says live streams are scanned for third-party content; if matched content remains after a warning, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. YouTube also says a license alone may not prevent interruption if the channel has not been added to the rights owner’s Content ID allowlist. Ask the rights owner about allowlisting when applicable. See YouTube’s guidance on live-stream restrictions.

YouTube’s live-stream terms require creators to have the necessary rights for Live Content, including music licensing rights. YouTube’s Creator Music FAQ says Creator Music does not currently support licensing for live content, so a Creator Music license for an ordinary video should not be treated as clearance for a live stream. YouTube’s music guidance describes public-domain music and music used with the rights owner’s permission as safer options, and cautions that a “free” label does not by itself prevent a Content ID claim.
For each Telugu recording, confirm that your permission covers the recording itself, live use, the relevant territory, any archived replay, and any required Content ID allowlisting. The rights holder and clearance depend on the specific recording; do not assume that permission for one version of a song covers another recording or use.

Troubleshoot common playback problems
The song plays once and stops
Open the Media Source properties and confirm Loop is checked. Loop is documented as off by default.

The song restarts when I change scenes
Check whether the source becomes inactive or hidden during the transition. For Media Source, review Restart playback when source becomes active and Close file when inactive. For VLC Video, review Visibility Behaviour. Test with the same scene transitions you will use live.

The VLC Video source is missing
Install VLC and check that its architecture matches OBS: OBS documents that 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC.
The playlist ends instead of repeating
Open the VLC Video properties and confirm Loop Playlist is enabled. Also check that the playlist contains the tracks you expect.

YouTube warns about or interrupts the stream
This is not fixed by changing OBS’s Loop setting. Check the stream notification and contact the rights owner about the match, permission, and Content ID allowlisting. YouTube may interrupt or terminate a live stream when third-party content remains after a warning.
