There is no one-to-one Nvidia equivalent for an older AMD Radeon card across every game and setting. For an upgrade or used-card comparison, match exact models using benchmarks for the games and resolution you care about, then check features, memory, power, physical fit, and driver support. RX 580, Vega 56, and RX 5700 are useful comparison starting points, but the evidence here does not establish definitive GeForce equivalents for them.
Why there is no universal Radeon-to-GeForce equivalent
A card that matches another in one benchmark can fall behind in a different game, resolution, or graphics setting. Results also depend on the driver version and test platform. Treat any cross-brand match as approximate unless it comes from a model-specific comparison under conditions relevant to your use.

Tom’s Hardware’s 2026 GPU Benchmarks Hierarchy and its 2020–2021 and Legacy GPU Benchmarks Hierarchy provide broad orientation across cards. A hierarchy is a snapshot of its test suite, not a guarantee of how a particular card will perform in your games.
How to use the Radeon cards as comparison anchors
Radeon RX 580
The RX 580 appears in Tom’s Hardware’s current hierarchy, making it a useful starting point for checking older GeForce options. GTX 1060 is a candidate to investigate, not an established equivalent here: the available evidence does not provide a model-specific benchmark row and test conditions that support a definitive match.

- AI Performance: 767 AI TOPS
- OC mode: 2632 MHz (OC mode)/ 2602 MHz (Default mode)
- Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
- Axial-tech fan design features a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- A 2.5-slot design maximizes compatibility and cooling efficiency for superior performance in small chassis
Radeon Vega 56
The legacy hierarchy places Vega 56 and RTX 2060 in the same broad comparison set. That makes the RTX 2060 worth investigating, but does not prove equivalent performance. Check the underlying results for the same game, resolution, and settings before treating them as a match.
Radeon RX 5700
The RX 5700 appears in Tom’s Hardware’s current hierarchy, but the available evidence does not establish a specific GTX or RTX counterpart. Compare the exact candidate models in the hierarchy or another benchmark source that publishes the relevant test conditions; do not infer an equivalent from the Radeon or GeForce family name.

What to compare before choosing a GeForce alternative
- Gaming results: Prefer the same benchmark suite, game, resolution, and graphics settings. Look at frame-time consistency as well as average frame rate when the source provides it.
- Features: GTX and RTX are not interchangeable feature labels. Check support for the specific ray-tracing or upscaling feature you intend to use instead of assuming every card offers the same capabilities.
- Memory: Compare VRAM capacity and type, but do not treat capacity alone as proof of performance or suitability.
- Power and fit: Check board power, required power connectors, card dimensions, case clearance, and PSU capacity. A card that benchmarks well may still be unsuitable for the system.
- Value and condition: For a used card, compare the actual local asking price, condition, cooler, warranty or return terms, and power requirements. Prices, stock, and listing condition were not verified here.
Check driver support for the exact card and operating system
Use the manufacturer’s support page for the specific GPU and operating system rather than assuming support from the generation name. AMD’s Radeon RX 570 support page illustrates model-specific downloads and OS support; select the page for your own Radeon model if checking an AMD card.

Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →In its 2025 post “Continued Support for Every Radeon Gamer,” AMD describes separate optimized driver paths for RDNA 1 and RDNA 2 (RX 5000 and RX 6000 series) and for RDNA 3 and RDNA 4 (RX 7000 and RX 9000 series). AMD says, “We’ve heard your feedback and want to clear up the confusion around the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 25.10.2 driver release.” This description does not, by itself, establish an end-of-support date for every older Radeon product.

A practical way to decide
- Identify the exact Radeon model and the games, resolution, and settings that matter to you.
- Shortlist exact GeForce models rather than comparing the GTX or RTX family as a whole. Treat GTX 1060, GTX 1070, or RTX 2060 as candidates to check, not automatic matches.
- Compare relevant benchmark results under like-for-like conditions. If the source does not show the model-specific row or test details, keep the comparison tentative.
- Check features, VRAM, power connectors, dimensions, and PSU requirements against your system before weighing performance.
- Verify driver and operating-system support with the manufacturer for the precise model and platform.
- For a used purchase, evaluate the actual listing—including condition, cooler, price, and return terms—rather than relying on a model-level performance comparison.
