The POCO X8 Pro has the stronger battery and charging figures and a water-resistance rating, while the Nothing Phone (4a) offers more camera reach, a larger screen and Nothing OS. The better buy depends on which of those matter to you, and on the price you can actually pay in your country on the day you check. The price figures available for this comparison are dated and do not match each other, so read the pricing section before drawing any conclusion about value.

Third-party snapshot (checked 7 October 2026)
A 91mobiles comparison page, checked on 7 October 2026, lists both phones at ₹39,999 and marks the POCO X8 Pro as out of stock. The page does not state which memory configuration that figure applies to, and it is a third-party listing rather than an official price.
Why the two figures cannot be subtracted
The ₹31,999 figure is a launch price from March, while the ₹39,999 figure is a later listing price. Subtracting one from the other gives a number that describes neither phone’s current price. On the single dated snapshot, the two phones are level at ₹39,999, and POCO has no purchasable price on that page. No official India launch price for the POCO X8 Pro is stated in the sources behind this comparison.
How to get a like-for-like price
- Choose one country and one memory and storage configuration. Nothing’s India page shows an 8GB+128GB option, so match that tier for POCO.
- Check both phones on the same day, on the same retailer page or app, and use the price shown at checkout rather than the headline price.
- Record stock status and any bank or exchange offers separately, since they change the effective price.
- Check whether the box includes a charger before comparing totals (see the charging section).
- Repeat the check shortly before ordering, because third-party prices and stock move daily.
Performance: chips described, not ranked
Xiaomi advertises the POCO X8 Pro’s Dimensity 8500-Ultra. 91mobiles lists the Nothing Phone (4a) with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. Neither source provides a benchmark or independent performance test for either phone, so the chip names alone do not settle questions of speed, heat or sustained gaming. Treat them as hardware descriptions, not as evidence that one phone is faster.
Cameras: reach versus verified image quality
On paper, the Nothing Phone (4a) has the more versatile camera set. Nothing’s India page describes a three-camera system with up to 70x zoom, and 91mobiles lists a 50MP periscope lens. A periscope design is the usual route to longer optical reach, so the Nothing covers more focal lengths. The POCO X8 Pro’s rear set, as listed by 91mobiles, is a 50MP main camera with an 8MP ultrawide and no telephoto lens. Xiaomi specifies the main sensor as a Sony IMX882 with optical image stabilisation.

The 70x figure is Nothing’s maximum zoom claim, not a measure of usable detail at long range. The sources here contain no hands-on comparison of photo or video quality, including colour, low light or zoom sharpness, so neither phone can be named the better camera on that basis.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Battery, charging and durability
Battery
The POCO X8 Pro’s 6500mAh figure is a typical capacity published by Xiaomi. The Nothing Phone (4a)’s 5400mAh figure comes from 91mobiles. Capacity is only one input to battery life. Screen size, refresh rate, network conditions and settings all matter, and neither phone’s endurance was independently measured in the sources used here.
Charging
Xiaomi lists the POCO X8 Pro at up to 100W HyperCharge and says its stated 48-minute charging figure was obtained with a 100W in-box charger under internal test conditions. That is a manufacturer result, not an independent test. Reaching 100W requires a PPS-compatible USB-C adapter. Whether a charger is included depends on the local seller, so check the listing before assuming one is in the box. No charging speed is stated for the Nothing Phone (4a) in these sources.

Water and dust resistance
The POCO X8 Pro carries an IP68 dust and water-resistance rating. Xiaomi describes the test as freshwater immersion up to 1.5 metres for up to 30 minutes under specified laboratory conditions. Xiaomi also warns that resistance can degrade over time and is not guaranteed outside those test parameters, so it should not be read as permission for damage-proof use. The sources used here do not state a water or dust rating for the Nothing Phone (4a).

Display and build
The Nothing Phone (4a) is listed at 6.78 inches, and the POCO X8 Pro at 6.59 inches with a 2756×1268 resolution and a 120Hz AMOLED panel that runs at up to 120Hz in compatible apps. Xiaomi also specifies a metal middle frame and a glass back for the POCO. A larger screen suits video and reading, while a smaller body is easier to use one-handed. Neither size is automatically better, and the sources do not establish how either display looks in use.
Software and update support
The Nothing Phone (4a) runs Nothing OS, which Nothing’s India page presents alongside Essential AI tools. The POCO X8 Pro runs HyperOS. Both shipped with Android 16, according to 91mobiles. 91mobiles lists three years of OS updates for the Nothing and four years for the POCO, with six years of security updates for each. Update policy varies by region and can change, so confirm the current commitment with the manufacturer for your market before relying on it.
Choosing between them
- Choose the Nothing Phone (4a) if longer zoom reach, a larger screen and Nothing OS matter more to you than battery capacity, charging speed and a stated water-resistance rating.
- Choose the POCO X8 Pro if battery capacity, fast charging, an IP68 rating and a longer stated OS update period matter more to you than camera versatility.
- In either case, make the final decision only after comparing same-day prices for the same memory configuration in your country.
If you buy the POCO, budget for a PPS-compatible USB-C charger unless the box you are offered includes one.
