How different are their displays?
The listed panels are nearly the same size and both support a 120Hz refresh rate. The meaningful difference is panel type: the Phone (3a) uses AMOLED, while the T5x uses LCD. vivo also lists 1200-nit HBM brightness for the T5x; that specification does not establish how the two screens compare in every lighting condition.

The Phone (3a) has three distinct rear-camera options on paper: a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The T5x lists a 50MP Sony IMX852 main camera and a 2MP bokeh camera. That gives the Phone (3a) more focal-length choices, but specifications alone do not establish which phone takes better photos. Both list a 32MP front camera; matching resolution is not a measure of image quality.

Battery capacity and charging: what the numbers tell you
The T5x’s listed 7200mAh capacity is larger than the Phone (3a)’s 5000mAh rating. That is a capacity comparison, not proof of longer real-world battery life: usage, settings and test conditions affect endurance, and no comparable independent test of these two phones is established here.
Nothing lists 50W wired charging for the Phone (3a), compared with vivo’s 44W for the T5x. The higher advertised wattage does not by itself establish a specific charging-time advantage.
Performance, software and support
The Phone (3a) uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, while the T5x uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 7400-Turbo. The available specifications do not establish an independently tested performance winner, so a chipset name alone is not enough to say which phone will feel faster for your apps or games.

Software details also need a date and source. Nothing’s India launch announcement described the Phone (3a) as running Android 15-based Nothing OS 3.1 and promised three Android updates plus six years of security updates. vivo’s current T5x product page lists Android 16-based OriginOS 6. The reviewed official T5x materials do not state a comparable update-support duration; that is an evidence gap, not proof that vivo offers less support.
Durability and weight
vivo advertises IP68 and IP69+ protection for the T5x. Treat these as vivo’s stated ratings rather than a guarantee for every kind of exposure or damage. The cited Nothing materials do not establish a corresponding Phone (3a) rating, so a direct protection comparison is not supported. vivo’s selected shop specification lists the T5x at 219g; a comparable weight was not stated in the cited Nothing material.

Prices depend on the seller, configuration and live offer. Nothing’s India launch announcement set launch prices of ₹24,999 for the Phone (3a) 8GB/128GB and ₹26,999 for the 8GB/256GB model; these are launch prices, not a claim about today’s selling price.

A 91mobiles comparison page displayed ₹24,999 at Flipkart for the Nothing Phone 3a and ₹27,099 at Amazon for the vivo T5x, a ₹2,100 difference between those displayed offers. The page did not make that an enduring or necessarily like-for-like market gap. Separately, vivo India Store displayed ₹27,999 for a selected T5x 6GB/128GB configuration. Check the exact RAM and storage option, seller and current offer before comparing totals.

Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the Nothing Phone (3a) if an AMOLED screen, a dedicated 2x optical telephoto, an ultra-wide camera and a documented software-support promise matter most to you.
- Consider the vivo T5x 5G if its larger rated battery capacity or vivo’s advertised IP68 and IP69+ protection better fits your priorities.
- Compare live listings carefully if price is decisive: match RAM and storage, and compare offers from the same date rather than treating a seller snapshot as a fixed price difference.
Neither phone is a proven overall winner based on these specifications. For performance, camera quality and battery endurance, a direct test under comparable conditions would be needed.
