The Nothing Phone (4b) is the cheaper option in the UK listings reviewed: Nothing’s phone collection showed it at £299, compared with £399 for the Phone (3a) Pro—a displayed difference of £100. Those prices and configurations are storefront snapshots, not guarantees of local stock or checkout price.

A collection-page price is not proof that a particular configuration can currently be checked out.
Which phone has the better camera?
Choose the Phone (3a) Pro for optical zoom
Nothing describes the 3a Pro as having a 50 MP periscope camera with 3x optical zoom. That dedicated telephoto lens is the clearest camera advantage in this comparison if you often photograph distant subjects and want optical rather than solely digital reach. PhoneArena also lists a triple rear-camera setup, including an 8 MP ultrawide.
The Phone (4b) has a simpler listed rear-camera setup
Nothing describes the 4b with a 50 MP main camera and 4K video; PhoneArena lists a dual rear-camera system with an 8 MP ultrawide alongside the main camera. The available specifications do not establish which phone takes better overall photos or video. Megapixel counts alone cannot answer that, and there is no comparative image-quality test here.
Memory, battery and performance differences
RAM and storage
The observed product listings give the 3a Pro 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, versus 8 GB RAM and 128 GB for the 4b. That makes the Pro’s listed configuration roomier on paper, but verify the exact SKU available in your market before purchase; the pages checked were not equivalent regional storefronts.

- [Fingerprint & Oil-Proof] The hydrophobic and oleophobic coating prevents fingerprints, oil residue and sweat from gathering on the screen. Always maintain a clean screen environment for you
Battery capacity
PhoneArena lists a 5,000 mAh battery for the 3a Pro and 5,200 mAh for the 4b, with a 6,000 mAh 4b variant specific to India. Capacity is not a runtime test: screen use, signal conditions, software and the regional model can all affect how long a phone lasts between charges. The available information does not establish a real-world battery-life winner.
Chipset
PhoneArena lists a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 in the 3a Pro and a Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 in the 4b. Those model names identify different chipsets, but without comparable benchmark or workload testing they are not enough to declare one phone faster in everyday use.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Software and support: what is established
PhoneArena lists Android 15 for the 3a Pro and Android 16 for the 4b, and says the 4b receives up to three OS updates. These are secondary-source listings; the available manufacturer pages do not establish a full support end date or a comparable update commitment for both phones. Do not treat “up to three” as a specific final support year.
Which Nothing phone should you choose?
- Pick the Phone (3a) Pro if 3x optical zoom is important or you want the larger RAM and storage configuration shown on its UK product page—and if you can find it in stock at an acceptable local price.
- Consider the Phone (4b) if the lower UK collection price matters more and you do not need the Pro’s dedicated telephoto camera. Check the local version and configuration, especially if buying outside the UK.
Neither is a universal winner. Before committing, confirm local price and stock, the exact memory/storage variant, and that the phone supports your carrier and network bands. Network compatibility and warranty terms were not established by the cited comparisons, so check those with the seller or carrier for your country.
