Nothing Phone (3) has the newer platform, a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, and a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED display. Nothing’s own Phone (3) page describes both as upgrades over Phone (2). Phone (2) keeps a few clearly documented strengths: a 1–120Hz LTPO display, a 4700mAh battery, 45W wired charging, 15W Qi wireless charging, and a stated software-support period. There is no single price gap that holds everywhere, because prices depend on country, storage tier, promotions and stock.
Everything below comes from Nothing’s own specification pages and regional storefronts. These are manufacturer claims, not independent benchmarks or hands-on tests.

What the differences mean
Processor
The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is the newer platform, and Nothing presents it as an improvement over Phone (2)’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. The pages do not show real-world speed, gaming or thermal results, so the size of the gain in everyday use is unproven. For messaging, social apps and browsing, expect both phones to feel fast.

Display
Phone (3)’s headline number is 4500 nits, but that is an advertised peak brightness. It is not what you’ll see with a full white screen in sunlight. Phone (2)’s documented advantage is its LTPO panel, which varies refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz. That typically helps battery life when the screen shows still content. Phone (3)’s page lists a flat 120Hz, and the captured page doesn’t say whether it also adapts its refresh rate. Don’t assume it does or doesn’t.
Cameras
Phone (2) has two 50MP rear cameras and a 32MP selfie camera. Phone (3) is listed with a four-camera 50MP system. The captured information doesn’t give sensor sizes or lens details, so a camera-by-camera verdict isn’t possible here. More cameras suggest more shooting options, but not necessarily better photos.

Battery, charging and updates
Phone (2) is the only one of the two with fully confirmed numbers: 4700mAh, 45W wired, 15W wireless and 5W reverse charging. Its stated support is three years of major Android updates and four years of security updates. If long-term support matters to you, compare it against Phone (3)’s official policy rather than assuming it matches.

One other Phone (3) storefront result contained Phone (1) copy, so I did not use it for any detail.
The U.K. rows show why comparisons go wrong. A Phone (2) at £699 with 512GB and a Phone (3) at £549 with 256GB are different configurations, and the Phone (3) price appears to be promotional. Don’t read it as the standard price.

How to compare prices properly
- Pick one country and one seller type: Nothing’s own store, a carrier or a retailer.
- Match the RAM and storage tier on both phones.
- Check whether each unit is new, refurbished or open-box, and whether it’s in stock.
- Note whether the price is a limited-time offer, and when it ends.
- Confirm the network variant, so the phone supports your carrier’s bands.
Which should you choose?
- Choose Phone (3) if you want the newer chipset, a higher advertised peak brightness and a four-camera setup, and the price gap in your market is modest.
- Choose Phone (2) if a discounted or secondhand price is clearly lower, or if you value its confirmed LTPO display, 45W and wireless charging, and published update commitment.
- Wait and verify if the decision turns on Phone (3)’s battery, charging or update policy. Check these on Nothing’s regional page first.
Phone (2) accessories exist in Nothing’s catalog, including cases, screen protectors and a 45W power adapter. Confirm exact model fit and charger protocol before buying, and don’t assume Phone (2) accessories fit Phone (3).
