The OnePlus Nord CE5 5G is the battery-and-charging pick on OnePlus India’s published specifications; the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G is the slimmer phone with the higher listed water-and-dust resistance rating. Neither is a universal winner. Your market, the price of the exact configuration, and whether you value battery capacity or durability and software support more should decide it.

Which phone should you buy?
Choose the Nord CE5 if battery capacity and charging are priorities
For the India version, OnePlus lists a 7,100 mAh battery and 80 W SUPERVOOC charging. Those are larger capacity and higher wired-charging figures than the 5,000 mAh and up to 45 W reported for the A36. Capacity and charging ratings do not establish how long either phone lasts in your routine or how quickly it charges in every condition; actual results depend on usage, charger, and regional package contents.
OnePlus lists a 6.77-inch 120 Hz AMOLED display and a Dimensity 8350 Apex processor for the India model. The A36 listings specify a 6.7-inch 120 Hz Super AMOLED screen and Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. The screen sizes and refresh-rate class are close, but chipset names alone are not a reliable real-world performance ranking. OnePlus’s published AnTuTu score is a vendor test for its 12 GB variant in Performance Mode, not an independent, matched comparison with the A36.
#1 Best Overall

- Display: Features a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with 128GB of storage and 68 minutes of battery life
- Camera: Includes a 5MP front camera and 5G connectivity for fast wireless speeds
- Memory: Comes with 6GB of RAM and a 4500mAh battery for extended use
- Security: Equipped with a fingerprint sensor for quick and secure access
Choose the Galaxy A36 if a slimmer body and higher listed IP rating matter more
Comparison listings put the A36 at about 7.4 mm thick and 195 g, versus about 8.27 mm and 199 g for the Nord CE5. The listed difference is modest in weight but more noticeable in thickness on paper. The A36’s IP67 rating is higher than the Nord CE5’s listed IP65 rating. These are ingress-protection ratings, not a promise that either phone is waterproof; follow the manufacturer’s care guidance and do not deliberately expose a phone to water.
Consider software support in the terms each company states
OnePlus India states four Android version updates and six years of security updates for the Nord CE5. Comparison sources report six years of OS updates for the A36. These are not identical descriptions: confirm the exact regional policy, eligible update scope, and start date with the manufacturer for the specific handset you plan to buy.

- Large 5000mAh Battery: Provides long-lasting power for all-day use
- 6.49 Inch Full HD+ Display: Features a 90Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and vivid visuals
- Octa-Core Processor: Runs at lightning-fast speeds for seamless multitasking
- Triple Camera System: Includes 13MP main, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth lenses for crisp, detailed photos
- 5G Capable: Connects to the fastest network speeds for lightning-fast downloads and streaming
Camera differences: extra lens does not mean better photos
Both phones are listed with a 50 MP main camera and an 8 MP ultra-wide camera. OnePlus specifies a Sony LYT-600 main sensor with optical image stabilization on its India page; comparison listings add a 5 MP macro camera to the A36’s rear array. That gives the A36 an additional close-up lens option, but camera count and megapixel ratings do not establish which phone produces better images. The comparison data does not provide matched independent camera testing.

For selfies, comparison listings show a 16 MP front camera on the Nord CE5 and a 12 MP one on the A36. Resolution alone does not determine image quality, so it is not a sound basis for choosing between them.

Price difference: compare matching versions in your market
There is no dependable single price gap to quote across markets. Third-party listings have shown different prices for different RAM and storage versions, and some listed offers were out of stock. Smartprix said its comparison details were last updated September 28, 2026; listings can change after that date, and prices are not fixed official prices.
- Pick your country and currency. The OnePlus battery and charging figures cited here apply to the India product page; other regional Nord CE5 configurations may differ.
- Match RAM and storage. Compare the same capacity tier where available, rather than a base model against a higher-capacity variant.
- Check live price, seller, and stock together. A displayed price for an unavailable item is not a useful current offer.
- Calculate the gap from those two offers. Subtract the lower-priced phone’s live price from the other’s and state the date if publishing a local price comparison.
Because both prices depend on configuration, seller, and date, a headline price difference without those details can mislead. Check the retailer’s listing for the exact model and package before placing an order.

Regional details to verify before buying
Do not assume every country receives the same Nord CE5 battery, charger, network bands, memory options, or in-box accessories. OnePlus India lists its regional specifications and says a protective case and pre-applied screen protector are included in that version’s box. Check the local OnePlus product page and retailer package description for your SKU. OnePlus India
For the A36, verify local Samsung specifications and update-policy wording rather than treating comparison-site entries as a region-independent commitment. Samsung Mobile Press identifies the device and gives a 6.7-inch screen diagonal measured across the full rectangle. Samsung Mobile Press
