Choose tools around the work your organization needs to do, its eligibility, and the capacity available to set them up and maintain them. The examples below are not a verified list of 25 products; they show how to evaluate tools across the jobs nonprofits commonly need to cover.
Start with the work, not a list of products
A tool can support growth by reducing administrative friction, helping an organization reach people, or improving how it manages donors and programs. Those are different outcomes, and a product built for one job may not solve another. Google, for example, describes Workspace and Ad Grants as separate offers, while Salesforce describes distinct fundraising, program, case, outcomes, and grantmaking functions.

Before comparing options, write down the workflow you want to improve and who will use the tool. Then assess each candidate against these criteria:
- Workflow fit: Does it support the tasks your staff or volunteers actually perform?
- Eligibility and geography: Are your organization’s registration and location accepted under the current terms?
- Implementation capacity: Who will configure the system, train users, manage access, and keep records current?
- Integrations and data: Can it work with existing systems, and does it handle the information your organization needs to manage?
- Total cost and terms: Check current pricing, plan limits, discounts, renewal terms, and any services needed to implement it.
These are practical selection criteria, not a quantified ranking. Vendor pages describe vendor-stated capabilities; they are not independent evidence that a product will perform equally well for every nonprofit.

Coordinate staff and volunteers
Google Workspace for Nonprofits
Google describes Gmail, Drive, Meet, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, and other collaboration tools for eligible organizations. Its nonprofit offer currently describes a no-cost Workspace for Nonprofits tier and discounted advanced plans. This category may suit organizations that need shared documents, calendars, meetings, and email in one working environment.
Eligibility, plan names, user limits, and offer details can change. Check the current Google Workspace for Nonprofits offer and Google for Nonprofits eligibility and program information before choosing a plan. Compare the available features with staff and volunteer workflows, and account for the time required to set up permissions and organize shared files.

Reach new audiences
Google Ad Grants
Google says eligible nonprofits may receive up to $10,000 USD per month in text-based ads on Google Search. That is the program maximum, not guaranteed funding, ad performance, donations, or audience growth. Google describes potential uses such as raising awareness, reaching donors, recruiting volunteers, and promoting campaigns.

Check the current Google for Nonprofits program page for eligibility and requirements. Consider whether your organization can create and maintain relevant campaigns, direct visitors to useful pages, and evaluate results. An advertising grant is not a substitute for a clear outreach plan.

Capture and steward donors, manage programs, and measure outcomes
Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud
Salesforce describes Nonprofit Cloud functions for fundraising, program and case management, and outcomes. Its materials also describe grantmaking as an optional function. This makes it an example of a broader platform that can support several organizational workflows rather than a tool limited to one task.
That breadth is not proof of universal fit. Review the current Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud product information and Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud help documentation. Assess which functions you need, how much configuration and implementation support your organization can manage, and which editions and pricing apply. Consider whether consolidating workflows is useful or whether a more focused tool would be easier to administer.

Administer grantmaking
Grantmaking is a distinct workflow from fundraising: one involves managing a program that awards grants, while the other involves seeking and stewarding contributions. Salesforce lists grantmaking among its platform functions, but organizations should confirm that the available capabilities match their grant process, approval steps, records, and reporting needs. The cited materials do not establish that every nonprofit needs this functionality or that it is the right fit for every grantmaker.
How to build a useful shortlist
- Map the workflow. Identify the people, tasks, handoffs, and records involved in the work you want to improve.
- Choose the category. Separate collaboration, advertising, donor management, fundraising, program and case management, outcomes, and grantmaking needs rather than comparing unlike tools.
- Check eligibility and current terms. For nonprofit offers, confirm registration, geography, plan details, and requirements directly with the provider.
- Estimate the administration burden. Identify who will configure the tool, train users, maintain data, and respond when processes change.
- Check fit with existing systems. Confirm integration and data-handling needs before moving records or committing to a platform.
- Compare current total cost. Include applicable subscriptions, implementation work, and ongoing administration; do not assume a free or discounted offer has no operational cost.
No common price or independent performance comparison is established for the examples here, so a universal winner cannot be named. The strongest shortlist is the one that matches your organization’s specific workflows, eligibility, and capacity to operate the tools.
