For a simple application form followed by applicant review, Softr has the clearest documented fit among these three builders. Its official materials describe conditional forms and file uploads alongside searchable applicant records, reviewer permissions, pipeline stages, and workflow automation. Bubble and Glide are broader app-building options; the reviewed vendor pages do not establish a dedicated applicant-matching workflow or validate automated ranking.
What an applicant workflow needs
A useful system does more than accept a form submission. It should capture the information and documents you need, keep each application in a usable record, let the right people review it, and show where it stands.
- Collection: required fields, screening questions, and any resume or supporting-document uploads.
- Records: a place to store submissions and find them later.
- Review: access for reviewers, with appropriate limits on who can see or edit records.
- Tracking: searchable or filterable records and clear stages such as received, under review, or interview.
- Automation: notifications or routing that move an application to the next person or step.
“Matching” can mean organizing applicants against explicit criteria, or automatically ranking them. The documented features support collecting, viewing, and managing applicant information; they do not establish a validated ranking method.
How the builders compare
| Builder | Forms and documents | Data connections | Review and tracking | Matching evidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Softr | Official pages describe custom fields, conditional logic, and file uploads, including resume/CV uploads and screening questions in its applicant-tracking example. Softr form builder; Softr applicant tracking. | Forms can store responses in Softr Databases or sync with external data sources. Its admissions example names Airtable, Google Sheets, Notion, SQL, and HubSpot; confirm the connector and plan for your setup. Softr AI Form Builder; Softr admissions workflow. | Applicant records, custom stages, evaluation forms, dashboards, reviewer views and permissions, and workflow triggers are described in official materials. | Applicant summaries are described as an AI feature, but that does not establish objective matching or validated hiring decisions. |
| Bubble | The official page presents a visual app builder with data and logic controls; it does not document a ready-made applicant form workflow. | Data controls are part of its general app-building features; a specific applicant-data connector setup is not established by the reviewed page. | Its broad visual-building capabilities may suit teams that need custom app logic or UI, but a specific applicant-review pipeline is not documented in the reviewed source. | No dedicated applicant-matching workflow or comparative ranking accuracy is established. Bubble platform features. |
| Glide | The official business page describes forms, portals, dashboards, internal tools, and mobile apps. | It describes Glide Tables and Big Tables, plus external sources including Google Sheets, Airtable, Excel, and SQL. | Its business-app framing may suit teams building around business data, but the reviewed page does not document a dedicated applicant-review pipeline. | No dedicated applicant-matching feature or ranking comparison is established. Why Softr is the most direct documented fit
Softr’s form-builder materials describe conditional fields, uploads, workflow triggers, searchable tables, reviewer views, and role-specific permissions. They also describe controlling what respondents and internal reviewers can see or edit. Its applicant-tracking example adds a central candidate list, hiring stages, interview evaluation forms, dashboards, and resume/CV collection.

The admissions workflow provides a useful pattern beyond hiring: connect applicant data, define applicant, reviewer, and administrator roles, create forms and document uploads, and route applications to reviewers with notifications. These are vendor-described capabilities, not an independent assessment of setup effort, reliability, or fit for a particular organization.
Choose based on how much you need to build
Choose Softr when the workflow is the priority
Start here if you want a relatively direct path from application collection to reviewer access and status tracking, and its available data connections and permissions meet your requirements. Verify the exact connector and plan before committing to a workflow that depends on an external database.
Consider Bubble when custom app logic matters
Bubble is presented as a broader visual builder for web and mobile apps, with controls for data, logic, and security. That breadth may be relevant if the application process is one part of a more tailored product. The reviewed feature page does not show a ready-made applicant-matching workflow, so plan to define and build the needed logic rather than assume it is included.
Consider Glide when your process centers on business data
Glide’s business offering emphasizes apps built around data, with forms, portals, dashboards, and connections to several common spreadsheet and database sources. The reviewed page does not establish a dedicated applicant-matching function; assess whether its data-centered app approach supports the review process you intend to create.

Design matching as a review process, not an unverified score
If matching means ranking people, first define transparent, job- or program-related criteria and how reviewers will apply them. A candidate summary or filter can help organize information, but the available vendor descriptions do not validate automated scores, demonstrate matching accuracy, or establish fairness. Keep a human review step and make the criteria understandable to the people making decisions.

- Confirm live plan limits, pricing, connector availability, and any usage limits against the expected number of applicants and reviewers.
- Test role permissions using separate applicant, reviewer, and administrator accounts; check both record visibility and edit rights.
- Map each application stage and decide who receives a record, what action advances it, and what notifications are needed.
- Review privacy and data-handling requirements for the sensitivity of the applicant records and the jurisdictions involved. Bubble’s page states that the platform is SOC 2 Type II compliant and GDPR compliant; those vendor claims do not by themselves establish that a particular app is configured correctly or meets a specific legal obligation.
- Test the full path from submission and document upload through reviewer access and status changes before inviting real applicants.
There is no dated, cross-vendor pricing comparison or independent hands-on assessment here, so choose on verified workflow fit rather than assumed cost, ease, or matching performance.
