How to get the icons
- Open the Nintendo Switch Online app and go to Missions & Rewards.
- Find the October 2026 icon elements and check that they are still available. The November 2 deadline is reported by Nintendo News Hub rather than confirmed in the cited Nintendo materials.
- Redeem the elements you want with My Nintendo Platinum Points. Nintendo’s general instructions say a Nintendo Account is required to receive and redeem points.
- Combine the redeemed character, background, or frame elements in the icon-customization area to create your profile icon.
Nintendo says icon themes change monthly and elements refresh weekly. Its general program information also describes game-related ways to earn points and occasional unlocks tied to playing selected games, but it does not establish the specific unlock conditions for this October rotation.

Do you need Expansion Pack for the Starfy icons?
The icon redemption itself is part of Nintendo Switch Online’s Missions & Rewards system. The Expansion Pack requirement applies to playing the Game Boy Advance catalog, not to the general act of customizing a profile icon. Nintendo of America lists Densetsu no Starfy, Densetsu no Starfy 2, and Densetsu no Starfy 3 in Game Boy Advance – Nintendo Switch Online and says that collection requires Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. Its July 2024 catalog update gives the game and membership context.

Nintendo describes Devil World as a 1984 Famicom action game starring Tamagon, who navigates a maze controlled by the Devil. The October 2023 Nintendo Japan notice announced its addition to the service’s classic-game collections.

Nintendo of America describes the first Densetsu no Starfy as a Game Boy Advance game about Starfy returning to Pufftop. Its catalog update also lists the second and third games in the series.
