There is no verified universal price for replacing a Nintendo Switch 2 battery. Nintendo’s official support information does not publish a battery-only fee for the U.S. or Canada, and the amount may depend on your region and the console’s condition. Check your warranty and request a quote through Nintendo’s local service process rather than relying on an old price for another Switch model.
What Nintendo says about replacing the battery
Nintendo Support Japan says customers cannot replace the batteries in Nintendo Switch 2 consoles or controllers themselves and directs owners to Nintendo Service Center repair. That guidance is specific to Nintendo Japan, but it makes a do-it-yourself battery swap an unsupported route in the official information available here. Nintendo Support Japan’s battery FAQ.

Nintendo’s U.S. service information provides an intake process and says out-of-warranty service may be available for a fee, but it does not list a Switch 2 battery-only price. Nintendo Japan likewise says post-warranty repairs are paid and that the charge is calculated based on the product’s condition when it is serviced. Nintendo of America says hardware products have a one-year warranty from the purchase date. Its service request information requires proof of purchase and notes that physical damage is excluded from warranty coverage. Whether a battery complaint qualifies for warranty service depends on Nintendo’s assessment of the individual case; the published information does not promise battery replacement at no charge.

- Check the purchase date and proof of purchase. Find your receipt or other purchase documentation before starting a request.
- Use Nintendo’s service request process. Submit the console details and describe the battery symptoms through Nintendo’s U.S./Canada service request page.
- Follow the case-specific instructions and review the quote. Ask whether the proposed service covers the battery alone or includes other work, and confirm any charges before approving paid service.
For other countries, use the Nintendo support or repair process for your region. Do not assume that a quote or policy from Japan, the U.K., or North America applies where you live.
Check whether the battery runtime is below Nintendo’s range
Nintendo says a fully charged Switch 2 should last 2 to 6.5 hours, depending on the software and functions being used. If your console runs for less than that stated range, Nintendo recommends service. The range is not a guarantee that every game or setting will deliver the same runtime. Before requesting service, compare your console’s runtime with that guidance under normal use and note the software and conditions when the battery drains quickly. This gives the service team a clearer symptom report; it does not determine warranty coverage or establish a repair price.

Why older Switch repair prices do not answer this question
A Nintendo UK repair-price list dated 1 October 2021 concerns earlier Switch models and does not establish a current Nintendo Switch 2 battery replacement fee. Nintendo UK also says repair costs are confirmed after examination. Neither an older-model price nor a price from another country is a sound estimate for a Switch 2 battery repair.
