If the Nimbus Screenshot extension is not working in Chrome, first check whether its button is simply hidden in the Extensions menu. Then match the next fix to the problem: an install block, a shortcut that does nothing, missing microphone audio, or a blurry capture each has a different likely cause. These steps apply to desktop Chrome; the available official guidance does not establish a special India-specific outage or fix.
First, make sure you have the right Nimbus extension
Before removing or reinstalling anything, check the extension’s name, developer, and features in its Chrome Web Store listing. The current listing called Nimbus identifies Constralabs Technology Inc. as its developer and describes an organisation-focused assistant. The available information does not establish that this is the older Nimbus Screenshot capture extension documented by Nimbus/FuseBase. Do not assume a listing with a similar name is the screenshot tool you are trying to repair.

The troubleshooting below concerns the legacy browser capture extension described in the Nimbus/FuseBase browser capture troubleshooter.
Check desktop Chrome and browser restrictions
Chrome extensions are for computers, not mobile devices. Enabling desktop mode in mobile Chrome does not make it a supported way to install extensions. If you are using a phone or tablet, try a desktop computer instead. Google’s guidance on extension problems also recommends checking that Chrome is up to date: Fix problems with apps, extensions, or themes.

On a work- or school-managed computer, an administrator may control extension installation or Chrome updates. If Chrome blocks the install or the extension is disabled by policy, contact your organisation’s IT administrator rather than trying to bypass its controls.
If Nimbus Screenshot is not showing in Chrome
- In Chrome, select the Extensions icon near the address bar to open the extensions menu.
- Find Nimbus Screenshot in the list.
- Select the pin control next to it. The extension button should then appear on the toolbar.
This can restore a hidden or unpinned toolbar button; it does not confirm that the extension is installed correctly or that capture works.

If the keyboard shortcut does nothing
A shortcut conflict can prevent Nimbus from responding. Nimbus’s troubleshooter notes that another app, including Google Docs, may use the same hotkey. Try starting the capture from the Nimbus menu. If that works, change the conflicting shortcut so only one app handles it.
If microphone audio is missing from a screen recording
This applies to recording audio, not ordinary still screenshots. Check Nimbus’s microphone setting and Chrome’s microphone permissions, and make sure Nimbus is allowed to use the microphone. If permission appears stale, Nimbus’s guidance suggests reinstalling and allowing microphone access when Chrome prompts you. Reinstall only after confirming you have the intended Nimbus Screenshot extension.

If the screenshot looks blurry
Check Nimbus’s screenshot-quality setting; the vendor troubleshooter says it may have been changed. If the image remains blurry, try the capture in a fresh Chrome profile as a diagnostic test. A new profile can help isolate a profile-specific problem, but it is not a guaranteed fix.
What Nimbus’s permission prompt means
FuseBase’s explanation says capture permission is needed to capture the screen, website-data access supports page screenshots, clipboard access supports copying links, and download access supports saving images to the computer. If none of these fixes works
When asking for support, include the exact Chrome error, Chrome version, operating system, whether the computer is managed by work or school, the extension developer shown in Chrome, and whether the issue also occurs in another Chrome profile or on another network. The official material cited here does not establish an India-specific Nimbus outage, regional restriction, ISP block, or special regional fix, so avoid assuming that changing networks or using a regional workaround will solve it.
