Measure both feet, use the longer foot’s length in the size guide for the exact Nike shoe, and choose the next size up if that measurement falls between sizes. Check width as well as length: toe-box pressure can be a width problem, not a signal to buy a longer shoe.
How do I measure my feet for Nike shoes?

Measure the distance between the marks, preferably with a ruler marked in centimeters.

Repeat for the other foot. Use the longer of the two measurements with the appropriate Nike size chart.

Start with the Size Guide linked from the product page for the shoe you want. Nike Help says product pages link to the relevant guide. The adult charts distinguish men’s and women’s US sizes; for a unisex shoe, check the product details for its size basis rather than assuming which chart applies.

Use the chart’s foot-length measurement—not the CM number printed on a shoe box or label. Nike cautions that the label’s CM value is not the same thing as your foot length in centimeters. The men’s footwear chart and women’s footwear chart provide the relevant sizing references.
Converting between men’s and women’s US sizes
Nike’s general guide says men’s and women’s shoe sizes differ by 1.5 sizes—for example, a women’s US 8 is likely a men’s US 6.5. Treat this as a general conversion, not a guarantee for every model or market; check the exact product’s size details. Should I size up in Nike shoes?
If your longer foot’s measurement falls between sizes on the relevant Nike chart, Nike’s chart directions recommend choosing the larger size. That is a starting point, not a substitute for checking the fit of the specific shoe: a larger size may not solve pressure caused by a narrow toe box.
Do Nike shoes come in wide?
Yes. Nike’s US men’s and women’s footwear charts describe wide shoes as having approximately 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) more toe-box girth than regular width, and extra-wide shoes as having approximately 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) more. These are approximate comparisons from Nike, not a promise that every model has identical internal dimensions.

Nike’s measurement article names the Pegasus and Monarch among its lines made in wide and extra-wide fits. Check the exact style, size, and market: availability can differ by product. A wide-fit option may be more appropriate than sizing up if the shoe presses across your toes.

Try shoes with the socks you intend to wear and mimic the activity they are for. Nike’s fit guidance flags a cramped toe box, heel or ankle irritation, an arch that feels too far toward the heel or ball of the foot, and heel slippage as possible signs of poor fit. These are practical checks, not a diagnosis; reassess the size, width, or shape of the shoe if a problem persists.
For running shoes specifically, a Nike Canada article dated July 8, 2024, quotes Bumbalough: “Running shoes are intended to fit true to size with approximately a thumb’s width between the big toe and the end of the shoe”. The article also says toes may touch the end for someone who prefers a tighter fit, but should not curl over. Keep this advice in its running-shoe context rather than applying it as a universal rule for all Nike footwear.
