The original NexiGo Aurora Pro is a 4K ultra-short-throw laser projector designed to make an 80–150-inch image from only inches away from the screen. Its headline features include Dolby Vision and HDR10+, three HDMI 2.1 ports, and a built-in 60 W speaker system. The key qualifications: NexiGo’s 2,400-lumen figure is a lab-tested peak specification, not a guarantee of a daylight-ready image, and the original model is not the Aurora Pro MKII.
What the original Aurora Pro offers
NexiGo’s specifications for the original Aurora Pro describe a 3840 × 2160 image produced by a 0.47-inch DMD DLP display and ALPD 4.0 light source. The company lists a 107% BT.2020 color gamut and a 3000:1 FOFO contrast ratio; these are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements.

For picture formats, NexiGo lists Dolby Vision, HDR10+, MEMC motion processing, and 3D support. RTINGS’ review of the original model also identifies Dolby Vision and HDR support. Format support does not by itself establish how bright or accurate HDR will look in a particular room.

The original Aurora Pro has a NexiGo-specified 0.233:1 throw ratio and a recommended image range of 80–150 inches. In RTINGS’ review, its tested unit produced an 80-inch image with the projector 3.9 inches from the screen, and a 150-inch image at 17.3 inches. Those are useful reference measurements, not a substitute for checking your own cabinet and screen arrangement.
#1 Best Overall
- 【Scene Adapt Engine】Enjoy higher-contrast visuals with our Scene Adapt Engine (SAE), the technology behind Dynamic Iris and Dynamic Laser Dimming. SAE produces deeper blacks and brighter highlights, for an impressive contrast ratio >30,000:1. This works by adjusting the laser output in real time, based on the content being displayed. SAE also lowers energy consumption by about 70%, combining environmental sustainability and impeccable image quality.
- 【ALPD 5.0 Laser Engine】Discover the power of ALPD 5.0. This advanced laser engine produces more captivating color than ever before with 2,400 lumens brightness, 107% BT.2020 color gamut, and ΔE≈1 color accuracy. ALPD 5.0 also drastically improves focus, improving detail and eliminating soft corners completely. It also helps your projector last longer, for an impressive lifespan of 30,000 hours — that's 18+ years for the average viewer!
- 【Lifelike Visuals】Immerse yourself in breathtaking 4K visuals, enhanced by Dolby Vision and HDR10+. Watch every scene come to life on a vibrant display of up to 150 inches. With its upgraded 0.21:1 throw ratio, Aurora Pro MKII requires less space to create this larger projection, so you can enjoy a larger-than-life screen in a home cinema of any size. Perfect for movies, gaming, and more, Aurora Pro MKII will transform your viewing experience.
- 【Lowest Latency】Optimized for gamers, Aurora Pro MKII supports smooth 4K gaming at 120 Hz. Activate Gaming Mode for lightning-fast performance with ultra-low latency between 4.2ms ~ 8ms.
- 【Immersive Audio】Experience rich, immersive sound with 60 W speakers and Dolby Atmos support. Build your ideal home theater setup, whether you prefer using built-in speakers, a surround sound system, or a simple soundbar with HDMI eARC.
Measure the distance from the intended projector position to the screen before buying. A UST design avoids the long throw of a conventional projector, but it still needs careful placement: small shifts can affect image alignment, and the available space must accommodate the size you want. NexiGo lists electric focus controlled by the remote and 4- or 8-point keystone correction. Its support materials cover initial setup, image size, blur and distortion, and ceiling mounting.
Is 2,400 lumens bright enough for daylight?
NexiGo advertises 2,400 peak lumens and says the figure was tested in its lab. The company also cautions that results can vary with test conditions and individual units, and recommends dark-light viewing for the best visual experience. Treat the number as a peak manufacturer claim, not a promise of a reference-quality image in a bright room. If daytime viewing matters, room light control and the screen you choose will be important parts of the setup.

Ports, smart features, and built-in sound
NexiGo lists three HDMI 2.1 inputs, three USB-A 2.0 ports, Ethernet, and an audio output. The listed wireless features are Wi‑Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, along with Alexa compatibility. RTINGS describes the original model as running Android TV with Miracast and AirPlay integration; it also reports eARC passthrough for advanced audio connection.
The manufacturer specifies two 15 W woofers and two 15 W tweeters, for a stated 60 W total speaker system, with Dolby Atmos. That gives the projector built-in sound without requiring a separate speaker system for every setup. RTINGS also notes Dolby Atmos and eARC support. These feature descriptions do not establish how the sound compares with a dedicated home-theater system.

Original Aurora Pro vs. Aurora Pro MKII
These are separate models, and their specifications should not be mixed. NexiGo lists a 0.233:1 throw ratio for the original Aurora Pro and a 0.21:1 ratio for the MKII. The image-distance figures and other original-model details in this review should not be assumed to describe the MKII.
Price and availability
A NexiGo product-listing capture accessed October 7, 2026 showed a crossed-out $2,999.99 price, a $2,299.99 offer, and an out-of-stock notice. It has the lowest tested input lag of 8ms among all UST projectors currently on the market. Now, you can enjoy playing your favorite PC and console games on a massive screen without sacrificing motion quality.
What the independent review establishes
RTINGS published its Aurora Pro review on August 14, 2024, and lists a page modification date of September 25, 2026. It identifies the projector as an ultra-short-throw 4K HDR laser model and provides the placement measurements above, alongside its observations about HDR, ports, wireless features, smart-TV functions, and audio passthrough. Those are RTINGS’ review findings; they are not hands-on tests conducted for this article.
The available review evidence does not establish a representative long-term failure rate, a complete warranty assessment, or a comprehensive current comparison against competing projectors. For a meaningful comparison, use the same screen size and room conditions, and check measured brightness and contrast, HDR handling, input lag and gaming modes, installation adjustments, app support, eARC, current price, and warranty.
