The core idea stays the same: you attach Pebblebee trackers to items, then use the Find Hub to locate them using the hub’s indicator feedback. The update improves usability in two places.

- Color indicators: The system uses colored status feedback to help you interpret tracker state faster (paired vs. active vs. searching/error).
- Wireless charging for Find Hub: Instead of relying only on a cable each time, the Find Hub can be charged using a Qi-compatible wireless charging pad (the exact wattage depends on your charger).
Put simply: less guessing, fewer “did I plug it in?” moments.
How the color indicators help you find items faster
Color feedback is only useful if it’s readable at a glance. With Pebblebee’s Find Hub workflow, colors are meant to reduce the time between “something’s missing” and “I know what to do next.”
Common states you should expect
You’ll typically see a distinction between normal availability and “active locating.” The exact palette depends on your firmware/app version, but the workflow pattern is usually consistent.
- Ready/paired: indicates the trackers are paired and the hub is in an idle state.
- Searching/locating: appears when you trigger a locate action, often changing as signal quality shifts.
- Attention/error: indicates a tracker issue (low battery, out of range, or a pairing problem).
How to use colors without overthinking them
When you start locating a tracker, watch for the first stable color. Then move slowly—about a meter at a time—until the color changes meaningfully. That’s usually a faster approach than trying to interpret every flicker.
Wireless charging for the Find Hub: what it changes
Wireless charging is a convenience upgrade, but it also changes charging behavior. Cables make it easy to confirm connection; wireless charging introduces pad alignment and “partial charging” scenarios.
What you need for wireless charging
- A Qi-compatible charger: Most Qi pads work, but wattage affects charging speed.
- Correct alignment: Charging is sensitive to where the coil sits under the hub.
Charging expectations (practical guidance)
If you use a typical 5 W class Qi pad, expect slower charging than higher-watt wireless chargers. If charging feels inconsistent, try a different Qi pad and re-center the hub on the pad.
Prerequisites before you set up (or re-set up)
Before pairing or relocating trackers, confirm you have the basics in place. Most “it won’t work” cases come from pairing conflicts, permissions, or hub power issues.

Required items
- Pebblebee tracker(s) you want to use
- Find Hub (the device that receives status and helps locate)
- Phone running the Pebblebee app (iPhone, iPad, or Android)
- Stable Bluetooth connection for pairing (Bluetooth LE)
Check these settings
- Bluetooth is enabled on your phone
- Location permissions are allowed for the Pebblebee app (many Bluetooth trackers require it)
- Background permissions are enabled so the app can keep the session stable
Step-by-step: set up Pebblebee trackers with Find Hub
Use this sequence to avoid the two most common problems: pairing the tracker to the wrong hub/profile and creating a duplicate tracker entry.
1) Check firmware and app permissions
Open the Pebblebee app and confirm the Find Hub is online via Bluetooth. If the app offers an update for the hub or tracker, complete it before pairing additional trackers.
2) Place the Find Hub and trackers correctly
Start close. Put the Find Hub and the tracker within a few feet (about 1 meter) while pairing. After pairing is complete, you can test range at larger distances.
3) Pair each tracker to your Find Hub
In the Pebblebee app, go to the device management area and start the add/pair workflow. When prompted, press or activate the tracker (often a button or a wake motion) so the hub can “see” it.

- Select your Find Hub from the device list (or choose Add Find Hub if this is a fresh install).
- Tap Add Tracker / Pair Tracker (wording varies by app version).
- Activate the tracker when the app indicates it’s listening.
- Wait for a success confirmation and ensure it shows as connected/paired.
4) Assign colors/labels and test
After pairing, the app usually lets you label the tracker (Keys, Bag, Suitcase) and tie it to how the Find Hub reports status. Do a short test near the hub.
- Rename the tracker with a label you’ll actually use.
- Trigger a locate/search from the app.
- Watch for the color transition on the Find Hub.
- Move the tracker a few feet away and confirm the status changes or the locate response updates.
Range, battery, and performance expectations
Performance is less about “advertised distance” and more about how your environment affects Bluetooth signals. Walls, metal, and interference can shorten effective range.
Real-world range factors
- Line of sight: Open areas typically perform better than rooms with concrete walls.
- Body/metal interference: Keys inside a metal cabinet or a backpack full of electronics can reduce signal.
- Bluetooth noise: Dense neighborhoods and busy workplaces can increase interference.
Battery life basics
Tracker battery life depends on how often you locate and whether the tracker is frequently waking. If you repeatedly run locate tests at close range, battery consumption can increase.

Charging workflow tips
- Keep the Find Hub charged when you expect to use it (travel days are the most common failure window).
- If you use wireless charging overnight, try the same pad and placement each time for consistency.
Common issues and troubleshooting
When something goes wrong, you want the fastest path to isolation: is the hub powered, the tracker paired, or the phone/app session working?
Tracker won’t pair
Most pairing failures happen when another hub/profile already has the tracker, or when Bluetooth permissions are blocked.
- Confirm Bluetooth is on and Location permission is allowed for the Pebblebee app.
- Move the tracker within ~1 meter during pairing.
- If you previously paired it, remove the tracker entry from the app, then try pairing again.
Colors don’t change as expected
If the Find Hub’s color feedback doesn’t move through states, you might be triggering the wrong action or using an app/hub version mismatch.
- Check for any Find Hub firmware update in the app.
- Trigger locate/search directly from the app’s tracker page (not from a different screen).
- Restart Bluetooth and try again if the hub seems “stuck” in one color.
Find Hub won’t detect the tracker
Detection issues usually boil down to out-of-range, low tracker battery, or interference.
- Test immediately near the hub to rule out range.
- Verify the tracker isn’t asleep due to battery depletion.
- Move away from metal surfaces and reduce obstacles during testing.
Wireless charging isn’t working
Wireless charging problems are almost always alignment or compatibility.

- Re-center the Find Hub on the pad and keep it still for 30–60 seconds.
- If you charge with a case or cover on the hub, remove it if the manufacturer recommends it.
Alternatives and when to consider a different approach
Pebblebee is a strong option when you want a dedicated hub experience. If you prefer a fully phone-integrated ecosystem, you may want a different path.
Apple ecosystem options (iPhone and iPad)
If your household is fully on iPhone, iPad, and iOS, you may consider tracking solutions tied to Apple’s ecosystem. That can reduce friction if your daily movement is consistent and you rely on Apple’s network-style behavior.

FAQs about Pebblebee trackers and Find Hub
Do the color indicators work the same after a firmware update?
They often do, but behavior can change if the vendor adjusts state definitions in firmware. If you notice a mismatch, check the app’s help screen or update notes for your version.
Is wireless charging always faster than cable charging?
No. Wireless charging is generally slower than a properly matched wired charger, and the actual speed depends on the Qi pad wattage your charger supports.
Can I pair multiple trackers to the same Find Hub?
Usually yes. In the Pebblebee app, you’ll add each tracker individually and label them so the hub can report the correct status for each one.
Why does location permission matter for tracker pairing?
Many Bluetooth tracker workflows require location authorization on mobile OSes even if you’re not actively sharing location. It’s mainly to allow continuous Bluetooth scanning under the platform’s security rules.
Bottom Line
The upgraded Pebblebee trackers for Find Hub focus on two high-impact usability fixes: better color-based feedback and a more convenient wireless charging routine for the hub. Together, they reduce the “setup friction” that usually slows new tracker owners down.
