Before you start: prerequisites and what to check
- Android version: Most modern wallpaper apps run fine on Android 8+; if you’re on a very old build, you may need to update.
- Storage: Expect each wallpaper pack to download a few megabytes to tens of megabytes. Free up at least a few hundred MB to avoid partial downloads.
- Permissions: You may be prompted to allow storage/media access. Denying it can prevent saving.
- Network: If your device blocks background downloads, downloads may stall. Test on Wi‑Fi first.
- Screen resolution/orientation: Tall displays (20:9 or taller) and devices with different aspect ratios can crop if you manually reuse a file.
Method 1: Install Google Wallpapers and download the latest packs

Method 3: Download individual wallpapers and set them manually

1) Google Wallpapers can’t download
- Turn off Data Saver (Settings > Network & Internet > Data Saver).
- Switch from mobile data to Wi‑Fi and retry.
- Check storage: go to Settings > Storage and confirm you have free space.
- Reboot the phone, then reopen the app.
2) Permission blocked (wallpaper won’t save)
- Go to Settings > Apps > Google Wallpapers.
- Open Permissions.
- Enable permissions related to Photos and videos or Files and media (wording varies by Android version).
- Retry the download and tap Set wallpaper again.
3) App won’t install or keeps crashing
- Update Google Play system and Google Play Store.
- Uninstall and reinstall Google Wallpapers.
