For a UAE app targeting iOS and Android, choose the stack around platform integrations, user experience, team skills and ongoing maintenance—not a blanket promise that one option is fastest or cheapest. A Dubai development vendor’s 2026 estimates put a 10–15-screen MVP at AED 120,000–220,000 for native apps on both platforms and AED 60,000–110,000 for either React Native or Flutter. Those are one vendor’s reported project estimates, not an independently verified UAE market average.
What are the practical differences?
| Approach | How it is built | Where it may fit | What to plan for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Native iOS and Android | Separate platform-specific implementations. | Products where platform-specific behavior, APIs or integrations are central. | Two implementations and their ongoing maintenance; cost and timing depend on scope, team and reusable services. |
| React Native | React components backed by host platform views, with native modules and components available for platform APIs and custom functionality. | Teams that can make effective use of React or JavaScript skills and whose needed libraries and integrations are compatible. | Shared code does not eliminate all platform-specific work. Check SDK and library compatibility and plan for native modules where needed. |
| Flutter | A cross-platform option included in the UAE vendor estimate below. | Teams whose experience and prototype results suit the product’s interface and integration needs. | The cited cost comparison does not prove that Flutter and React Native cost the same for every project; validate the actual UI, integrations and maintenance plan. |
React Native’s documentation describes a model in which React components use native components rather than web components. Its examples map View to Android’s ViewGroup and iOS’s UIView. The framework also supports native modules and components. See React Native’s explanation of core and native components and its New Architecture overview for architecture and compatibility context.

What do the UAE cost estimates show?
Coders Technologies, a Dubai mobile development vendor, published the following 2026 estimates and says they are based on projects it has shipped. The article does not state a sample size or an auditable costing method, and the compared builds are not independently verified as identical in scope. Treat the figures as quote-planning context from one supplier, not as a UAE-wide average.

| Project stage | Native, both platforms | React Native | Flutter |
|---|---|---|---|
| MVP (10–15 screens) | AED 120,000–220,000 | AED 60,000–110,000 | AED 60,000–110,000 |
| Mid-complexity app | AED 220,000–450,000 | AED 110,000–250,000 | AED 110,000–250,000 |
| Complex app with backend | AED 400,000–800,000+ | AED 200,000–500,000 | AED 200,000–500,000 |
| Annual maintenance as a share of build cost | 15–25% | 10–18% | 10–18% |
These maintenance percentages are the vendor’s estimates, calculated against build cost. The vendor says backend, hosting and ongoing infrastructure are extra in all cases, including the estimate labelled “complex app with backend.” Clarify exactly what that label covers in a quote. The figures and their stated basis are published by Coders Technologies.

A second commercial UAE comparison also reports native cost premiums, but its headline claims do not establish an independent market methodology. It should not be used to turn a vendor estimate into a universal price ratio: TheWebBrew’s comparison.
How should you choose for your app?
Choose native when platform-specific work is central
Native is a reasonable candidate when the product depends heavily on platform APIs, specialized integrations or platform-specific interaction. It gives developers direct access to each platform’s capabilities and conventions, but usually means maintaining iOS and Android implementations. Compare project-specific quotes rather than assuming a fixed native premium.
Rank #2
Consider React Native when React skills and compatibility align
Existing React or JavaScript experience can make React Native relevant, but confirm that the required SDKs, libraries and platform behavior are supported. The official documentation describes it as building Android and iOS apps with React and the app platform’s native capabilities. Shared components do not mean every feature or screen is identical across platforms.
Evaluate Flutter with a representative prototype
The available UAE estimate lists Flutter in the same price bands as React Native, but that is not proof of equal costs across projects. Prototype the actual interface and required integrations, then assess the work with the team that will maintain it.

Test performance against the real workload
There is no established universal performance winner among these options. Measure the app’s demanding work—such as animation, media, graphics, background processing or hardware access—on representative devices. An empirical preprint compares implementations of one plant-management application across native and cross-platform stacks; it is not evidence of UAE pricing or a result that applies to every product: the study on software-quality trade-offs.
Validate Arabic, RTL and accessibility in the intended interface
Test Arabic content, right-to-left layouts, mixed-direction text, form entry, accessibility and platform conventions in the product itself. The available evidence does not establish a reliable ranking of RTL quality across these three approaches.

How can you compare quotes fairly?
Ask each vendor to price the same written scope. A framework comparison is useful only when the quotes account for the same product, platform coverage and delivery responsibilities.
- Confirm iOS and Android coverage, screens, user flows and platform-specific differences.
- List backend work, third-party integrations, SDKs and other services separately from app development.
- Specify QA devices, testing, release support and what counts as an accepted deliverable.
- Ask what annual maintenance includes, how it is calculated and whether updates, bug fixes or platform changes are covered.
- Separate hosting and ongoing infrastructure from the build price; Coders Technologies excludes these from its estimates.
- Identify the team’s framework experience, the libraries it proposes and how native-specific work will be handled.
- Prototype high-risk screens and integrations—including Arabic and RTL flows—and test performance on representative devices before committing to a stack.
There is no independently verified UAE-wide cost statistic or comparative local developer-supply figure established here. A useful budget comes from comparable, project-specific quotes, not from treating one supplier’s bands as a national benchmark.
