Namecheap can be a reasonable low-cost home for a small website, but the right choice depends on what you host and what happens after the introductory term. Its shared hosting offers a conventional cPanel setup, while EasyWP is a separate managed WordPress service with one website per plan, according to TechRadar. EasyWP’s displayed yearly prices renew at higher rates, and Namecheap’s uptime figures are guarantees—not independent measurements.

What hosting does Namecheap offer?

Namecheap sells shared hosting, managed WordPress hosting through EasyWP, VPS hosting, and dedicated servers. The company positions each for a different level of control and workload. Its hosting overview lists SSD storage, unmetered bandwidth, cPanel, one-click installs, SSL, and 24/7 support across its hosting offer, with particular features dependent on the plan.

Option Best suited to What to consider
Shared hosting Beginners and small websites seeking a budget-friendly, conventional hosting setup. Plan-specific limits and renewal rates; the entry plan’s performance received a mixed assessment in TechRadar’s review.
EasyWP WordPress site owners who prefer managed tools and less server administration. TechRadar says each plan supports one website; compare the yearly introductory price with its renewal price and check domain-related SSL terms.
VPS Growing applications or e-commerce projects needing more control and scalable resources. More control comes with a different level of resource and administration responsibility than entry shared hosting.
Dedicated servers High-traffic or enterprise workloads requiring greater performance capacity. Choose based on workload and capacity needs rather than assuming a small site needs a dedicated server.

The provider describes its shared, VPS, and dedicated options by these general use cases; the descriptions are positioning, not a guarantee that a plan will meet a particular site’s traffic or reliability requirements.

How much does Namecheap hosting cost after renewal?

Namecheap’s EasyWP page displayed the following yearly prices when accessed on October 4, 2026. Introductory prices apply to the first billing cycle, so the renewal amount is the more useful figure for estimating ongoing cost.

EasyWP plan First yearly term Renewal
Starter $38.88 per year $68.88 per year
Turbo $61.88 per year $114.88 per year
Supersonic $78.88 per year $138.88 per year

These are the prices displayed on the EasyWP plans page on that date, not a promise that the same prices will remain available. Check the checkout total and renewal terms before purchasing.

For context, TechRadar’s January 26, 2026 article listed shared hosting’s Stellar plan at $1.99 per month for one year, then $4.88 per month; Stellar Plus at $2.98 per month, then $6.88; and Stellar Business at $4.98 per month, then $9.88. Those are the article’s dated figures, not a current quote. It also listed Stellar with three websites, 20 GB SSD storage, and 30 mailboxes. See TechRadar’s review for its dated snapshot.

Is EasyWP different from shared hosting?

Yes. EasyWP is Namecheap’s managed WordPress service; shared hosting is the broader, cPanel-based option. The distinction matters most in how you want to manage WordPress and how many sites you need to run.

EasyWP: managed WordPress tools

Namecheap describes EasyWP with automated migration, daily backups, automatic updates, a web application firewall, caching, CDN, and SSL. TechRadar’s review says each EasyWP plan is limited to one website, so owners with multiple WordPress sites should include the cost of separate subscriptions in their comparison. Features and terms are described on the EasyWP product page.

Shared hosting: broader site flexibility

Shared hosting is positioned for small sites and uses cPanel. If you want to host several websites, compare the exact site allowance for the particular plan rather than assuming every shared plan has the same limits. Shared hosting may suit someone who wants the conventional hosting control panel rather than a WordPress-specific managed product.

SSL, CDN, and domain qualifications

Namecheap’s terms say free Let’s Encrypt SSL is currently supported only for Namecheap domains. That qualification can affect the cost and setup if your site uses a domain registered elsewhere. EasyWP’s product information also lists CDN and SSL, but the domain condition is important when evaluating what “free SSL” means for your setup. Review the EasyWP page and the linked hosting terms before migrating or buying.

Performance and uptime: what the evidence says

Namecheap advertises a 99.9% uptime guarantee in its hosting overview. Its EasyWP FAQ states monthly guarantees of 99.9% for Starter and Turbo and 99.99% for Supersonic. These are provider commitments, not independently measured uptime results; the cited sources do not establish real-world uptime through an independent dataset. See the hosting overview and EasyWP FAQ.

TechRadar’s 2026 review reports that its reviewer found the entry shared plan handled requests but was not fast, and describes EasyWP as reliable but slow in that reviewer’s own testing. Those observations belong to that review and should not be treated as universal results or a reproducible benchmark for every site. TechRadar’s reviewer, James Capell, B2B Editor, Web Hosting, concluded: “Namecheap remains one of the best cheap web hosting providers overall..” That is a reviewer’s judgment about value, not a guarantee of fit for every workload. Read the full review for its context.

Refund timing to know before signing up

Namecheap’s terms state that refunds may be issued for cancellations within 30 days of initial signup, excluding free trials, or within 24 hours of renewal. Other cancellation timings are not eligible, and exclusions apply. Read the hosting terms for the applicable conditions rather than treating either window as unconditional.

Who should choose Namecheap hosting?

  • Consider shared hosting if you run a small site, want cPanel, and have checked the current plan’s website and resource limits plus its renewal price.
  • Consider EasyWP if you have a single WordPress site and value managed WordPress features; include the renewal amount and any domain-related SSL requirements in your decision.
  • Look at VPS if your growing application or store needs more control and scalable resources than a shared plan offers.
  • Consider dedicated hosting only when the workload’s traffic or performance-capacity requirements justify it.

Before choosing, compare total cost over the period you expect to host, number of sites, storage and resource limits, management needs, and whether your domain setup qualifies for the SSL terms you expect. The cited material does not establish a complete current ranking against competing hosts.
