Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsBased on TechRadar Pro’s October 6, 2026 report, the MSI Codex Z2 is the better-value pick for most buyers at its reported $1,399 Amazon price. The MSI Aegis R2 is the stronger-spec option, but its reported $2,269 price is $870 higher; it makes sense if you will use its faster graphics card, double the memory and double the storage. These are reported offers, not confirmed live prices, and the Codex Z2’s exact graphics-card configuration needs a SKU check.
Reported Prime Day prices and configurations
TechRadar Pro reported both Amazon offers on October 6, 2026. Its article describes each as $200 off, but the equal discount does not make them equally good value: at those reported prices, the Aegis R2 costs $870 more. The details below reflect that report and have not been independently verified against live listings.

Choose the Codex Z2 for a tighter budget
At the reported $1,399 price, the Codex Z2 is the more affordable route to a gaming desktop, while leaving $870 in your budget compared with the Aegis R2. It is the sensible default if you do not have a clear need for the Aegis’s listed upgrades. TechRadar Pro also recommends it for most buyers, based on the offers and configurations described in its article.

Pay more for the Aegis R2 if its upgrades matter
The Aegis R2’s reported RTX 5070 12GB, 32GB of memory and 2TB SSD may better fit someone who expects to benefit from the additional graphics capability, memory or capacity. The case for spending the extra $870 depends on those needs; the available comparison does not establish how much faster it is in particular games or applications.
Check the Codex Z2 model number before buying
There is a configuration mismatch to resolve. MSI’s specification sheet for Codex Z2 model B8NUC-269US, dated April 21, 2026, lists a Ryzen 7 8700F paired with an RTX 4060—not the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB described in TechRadar Pro’s deal article. That sheet does not verify the reported deal configuration, and the exact manufacturer part numbers for either deal were not established.

Before ordering, compare the retailer listing’s model or part number and full specifications with the manufacturer’s information. Do not assume a Codex Z2 listing is the RTX 5060 Ti configuration simply because it uses the same product-family name.
