Stable Android 17 is now reaching more Motorola phones in the United States, but the rollout is staged. The device with the clearest U.S. confirmation in reporting from October 6 to 8, 2026 is the Motorola Razr Ultra (2026). Other models have been named as part of the broader rollout, yet a listing or eligibility entry does not mean every U.S. phone has the update yet.
What is confirmed for U.S. phones
The strongest device-level evidence is for the Razr Ultra (2026). 9to5Google reported the update landing on that phone in the U.S. on October 6, 2026, and Android Central independently describes the same U.S. rollout. Android Authority also names the Motorola Razr (2026) among devices reached by the broader rollout. The coverage I could confirm does not give a carrier-by-carrier breakdown for the Razr 2026, so treat its inclusion as reported rather than fully verified for every U.S. variant.

| Device | Market | Status in reporting as of October 8, 2026 | Source and date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Motorola Razr Ultra (2026) | United States | Stable Android 17 update reported as landing | 9to5Google, October 6, 2026; Android Central, October 6, 2026 |
| Motorola Razr (2026) | Not specified in the reviewed coverage | Named among devices reached by the broader rollout; no carrier-level detail given | Android Authority |
| Motorola Edge 60 Fusion and Edge 60 Pro | India | Update reports refer to India, not the United States | Android Authority |
The Edge 60 reports matter for U.S. readers only as a reminder that Motorola rollouts are region-specific. Reports about an Indian model should not be read as evidence that the same build has reached American phones.

Build details for the Razr Ultra (2026)
The reported U.S. package is build A171WLH.38-19-5, based on the September 2026 security update. 9to5Google puts the download at about 4.17 GB, and Android Central reports approximately 4.1 GB for the same build. The small difference is a matter of rounding between the two reports, not a sign of two different packages.

Eligibility is not the same as availability
Coverage from August 2026 listed more than 50 Motorola models across the Razr, Edge, and Moto G families as eligible for Android 17. Eligibility describes which phones the manufacturer plans to support. It does not tell you which phones are receiving the update today.
Motorola’s U.S. support guidance makes the same distinction. It states: “The information communicated is not a commitment or an obligation to deliver any product, product feature, software upgrade or functionality and Motorola Mobility reserves the right to change the content and timing of any product, product feature or software release.” Google’s general Android guidance adds that timing and eligibility depend on the manufacturer and carrier, and that rollouts can be staged across batches of devices.

How to check whether your phone has the update
- Open Settings.
- Tap System.
- Tap System update.
- Choose the option to check for updates, then wait for the phone to finish searching.
- If an Android 17 update appears, follow the on-screen prompts. Keep the phone charged and connected to Wi-Fi, since the package is several gigabytes.
If no update appears, that alone does not mean your phone is ineligible. Check Motorola’s support page for your exact model and the channel you bought it through (unlocked, a U.S. carrier, or a retail seller). That page is the better reference for eligibility, although Motorola warns that its plans and timing can change.
What Android 17 changes on Motorola phones
Android 17 brings system-wide changes that Android Authority lists regardless of manufacturer:
- A redesigned Quick Settings panel.
- Cross-platform Quick Share.
- Stackable widgets.
- Notification summaries.
Reporting on the Razr Ultra (2026) adds Motorola-specific details: updated icons and Settings screens, notification summaries, an updated Live Updates interface, Qira-related features, and Pause Point. These are observations from the Razr Ultra rollout and should not be assumed for every Motorola model.
Qira deserves particular caution. Motorola’s software news describes Qira expanding selectively across Signature, Razr, and Edge devices as those phones receive Android 17. It is a staged feature rather than a guarantee that every eligible phone will have it.

- 50MP ULTRA-PIXEL CAMERA WITH OIS; Optical Image Stabilisation lets you capture sharper photos and perfect videos even in low light – without shaking
- Cinematic 6.5 inch POLED display; bring your entertainment to life with infinite contrast and over a billion lifelike colours

Which details to compare before assuming availability
If you are trying to work out whether your own phone is likely to get the update, separate four things:
- Exact model and year. Razr Ultra (2026) and Razr (2026) are different entries from an older Razr.
- Country or region. An Indian Edge 60 report says nothing about U.S. availability.
- Carrier or retail variant. The same model can be released on a different schedule depending on who sold it.
- Type of evidence. A device report is stronger than an eligibility list, and an eligibility list is stronger than a general statement about future plans.
What is not yet established
The available reporting does not establish a verified U.S. carrier-by-carrier release schedule, nor a dependable arrival date for each eligible Motorola model. Until Motorola or your carrier publishes that information, the device-side check above is the most reliable way to see what your phone is offered.
Two things are settled for now: the Razr Ultra (2026) has the clearest U.S. evidence, and the rollout is staged rather than simultaneous.
