For most buyers choosing between these two, the Moto Tag 2 is the more capable pick—if your Android phone supports its advanced nearby-finding features and you can buy it in your region. Chipolo ONE Point remains worth considering when its documented loud ring and built-in keyring hole matter more, but Chipolo says the model was discontinued in 2025, so current stock and seller terms need checking.
Both trackers work with Google’s Android finding network. The choice comes down to phone compatibility, nearby-finding features, sound, protection, battery estimates, and whether the Chipolo is still available at a sensible price.

UWB support
Moto Tag 2 supports ultra-wideband (UWB) for direction and distance guidance. Motorola’s guide requires a UWB-capable Android phone running Android 12 or later, with UWB enabled. Availability varies by region. A phone that meets the Android-version requirement but lacks UWB hardware cannot use this feature.

Bluetooth Channel Sounding
Motorola’s user guide states: “Bluetooth Channel Sounding requires a supported Android phone with Bluetooth 6.0 and Android 16 or later.” That requirement is more specific than simply owning a recent Android phone: the device must support Bluetooth 6.0 as well as the required OS version.
Nearby finding can use BLE, Channel Sounding, and UWB; remote location can use Google Find Hub. The Moto Tag 2 also supports a button to ring a paired phone, remote camera control, adjustable ringtone, battery-level checks in the Moto Tag app, and location sharing with trusted contacts, according to Motorola’s product page.

When the Chipolo ONE Point makes more sense
Consider the ONE Point if you find a legitimate, reasonably priced listing and prioritize a loud documented ring or a keyring hole built into the tracker. Chipolo says it works with Android 9 or later with Google Play Services, and only with Google’s Android finding app—not Apple Find My or the Chipolo app.

The up-to-120-dB figure is Chipolo’s specification, not a guarantee of what you will hear in every setting. Room acoustics, distance, and obstructions affect perceived loudness; there is no controlled head-to-head ring test here to show how it compares with the Moto Tag 2.

Because Chipolo says the ONE Point was discontinued in 2025, check the seller, regional stock, return policy, and that the listing is for the Google-compatible ONE Point rather than another Chipolo model. Its discontinuation does not establish that every retailer has run out.
Battery, protection, and attachment trade-offs
Battery life is an estimate, not a guarantee
Both trackers use replaceable CR2032 coin cells. Motorola’s current US product page estimates over 600 days for the Moto Tag 2, while Motorola’s CES 2026 announcement gives a more-than-500-day estimate. Chipolo estimates up to one year for ONE Point. These manufacturer figures are not directly comparable test results, and actual runtime can vary with usage and conditions.

Protection ratings describe different claims
Motorola states IP68 water and dust resistance for Moto Tag 2; Chipolo lists IPX5 splash resistance for ONE Point. These are the manufacturers’ published ratings, not evidence of comparative durability from hands-on testing. The ratings should not be treated as interchangeable.

Which Android tracker should you buy?
- Choose Moto Tag 2 if your phone supports UWB or Bluetooth Channel Sounding and you value more precise nearby finding, location sharing, or Motorola’s phone and camera controls.
- Choose Chipolo ONE Point if you can still find it at a sensible price and prioritize its stated up-to-120-dB ring or built-in keyring hole.
- Compare other current Find Hub-compatible trackers if your phone does not support the Moto Tag 2’s advanced finding features and you cannot find a trustworthy ONE Point listing. Google’s compatibility list is a starting point; confirm current product-specific features and local availability.
Motorola’s CES 2026 announcement describes Google Find Hub as having “more than a billion devices.” That is Motorola’s claim, not an independently audited count. Both models are listed as compatible with Google’s network, but official specifications alone do not establish which one finds items faster or more reliably in everyday use.
