Are the Moto G Max and Redmi Note 17 the same price?
For the India 6 GB RAM / 128 GB storage variants, 91mobiles reported ₹27,999 for each phone in its 17 August 2026 comparison. A separate Gadgets Now comparison listing shows ₹26,999 for the Moto and ₹27,999 for the Redmi. Prices and availability can change, so check current listings for the exact memory configuration before buying.

Which phone suits your priorities?
Choose the Moto for camera versatility and audio options
Moto’s listed 8 MP ultrawide gives it a second rear-camera type that the Redmi’s 2 MP depth sensor does not provide. Its listed 32 MP selfie camera also has a higher resolution than the 8 MP front camera given for the India Redmi variant. These specifications do not establish which phone takes better photos.
Moto is also the more flexible pick on the reported audio hardware: it has dual speakers and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, while Redmi is listed with a mono speaker and no headphone jack. Consider it if wired headphones or stereo speaker playback matter to you.

Choose the Redmi for its screen, battery figures and support window
Redmi’s reported 6.99-inch AMOLED panel is both larger and a different panel type from Moto’s 6.72-inch LCD. Both are listed at 120 Hz. The comparison’s 1,800-nit figure for Redmi and 1,050-nit peak figure for Moto are specifications; they do not by themselves prove how clearly either screen performs outdoors.

The reported update commitments favor Redmi as well: four major Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates, compared with two major upgrades and three years of security updates for Moto. Check the terms for the exact SKU before purchase.

What the specifications cannot tell you
A chipset tier and memory/storage generation are useful distinctions on paper: Moto is listed with Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, LPDDR5X and UFS 3.1, while Redmi is listed with Snapdragon 4 Gen 4, LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2. They do not substitute for controlled testing or show how either phone behaves in everyday use, under sustained workloads or after software updates.
- Battery capacity and charging wattage do not show how long a charge lasts or how quickly a phone charges in practice.
- Camera resolution and camera count do not establish image quality.
- Durability claims should not be treated as a definitive ranking: the comparison does not establish a unified, like-for-like protection comparison for these variants.
Redmi camera and battery details can vary by region in the comparison sources. In particular, do not assume the India front-camera figure applies to every market or treat listed battery capacity as universal. If camera quality, endurance or sustained speed is decisive, use a review with model-specific test data and verify the precise regional model.

Which one should you consider buying?
Pick Moto if its reported ultrawide camera, higher-resolution selfie-camera specification, dual speakers or wired headphone jack are the features you will use. Pick Redmi if you place more weight on the larger AMOLED screen, its higher listed battery capacity and charging wattage, or the longer reported software-support period. If price is the deciding factor, compare live listings for matching 6/128 GB variants rather than relying on a dated comparison price.
