Buy the Grisha Hunter’s items before opening the cage. Then use the Cage Key to free the Grisha Pup and talk to it for the reported Sheephead Totem. When you return after the camp changes, speak to the pup before deciding whether to leave peacefully or fight the Grisha Matron. Do your shopping before opening the cage
The cage event reportedly changes the camp and can remove the Hunter’s shop. Buy the Grisha Remnant and any other stock you want before buying or using the Cage Key. NerdsChalk lists the key at 250 coins, but that price is a guide-reported figure and may be build-sensitive. NerdsChalk’s camp guide and MortalShell2Guide.org’s Grisha guide both caution that the shop may no longer be available after the event advances.

The Cage Key is not the Chapel Key: the latter opens the Shrine of Trials and does not free the pup, according to the Fainweald walkthrough.

Free the pup to get the Sheephead Totem
- After finishing your purchases, use the Cage Key on the pup’s cage.
- Speak to the freed pup; guides report that this conversation awards the Sheephead Totem.
- Do not attack the pup.
The Grisha guide describes the Sheephead Totem as a separate PP Item with an active sheep transformation and a passive effect that reduces enemies’ maximum Health. Check its live description in your game, since item labels and effects may change between builds.

What happens if you break the lock or attack the hunters?
NerdsChalk reports that breaking the lock instead of buying the key saves the reported 250 coins but makes the camp hostile. It also says attacking the hunters ends trading. These are guide-reported outcomes, not guaranteed behavior across every build. If preserving the shop matters, the safer reported route is to buy what you want before advancing the cage event.
Return to the changed camp and talk before choosing
After progressing along the nearby route, return to the camp. The guides report that speaking to the pup before taking hostile action calms the adult Grisha Matron and grants a fixed Glimpse reward. The conversation creates a choice: leave the Matron unharmed, or fight her.

Leave for the peaceful outcome
If you leave after the conversation, the peaceful resolution is preserved. You do not get the Matron’s reported combat drops.
Fight the Matron for reported drops
The fight is optional. Guides report that defeating the Matron can yield another Grisha Remnant; NerdsChalk also lists a Wounding Stone and a large Glimpse drop. No verified numeric Glimpse amount is given, so there is no reliable figure to quote. NerdsChalk also reports that leaving or resting after the Matron appears can make the encounter disappear. If you want to pursue the fight, resolve the choice without resting first.

How the Grisha Remnant is described
The Hunter reportedly sells a Grisha Remnant, and defeating the Matron may provide another. The Grisha guide describes its active use as summoning a Grisha ally and its passive effect as a chance for melee attacks to summon help; additional copies raise familiarity. Since the guide itself cautions that item descriptions can change with patches, use the current in-game text as the authority for your build.

MortalShell2Guide.org reports that the camp can load with an empty cage even when the event was not intentionally failed. Its suggested workaround is to enter the nearby dungeon, exit to reload the camp, then check the pup interaction and your inventory. This is a reported workaround, not a guaranteed fix.

This event concerns the pup and Matron at the Mushroom Village camp. It is separate from Pale Grisha in the Grisha Hunting Grounds and the Rabid Grisha Pack boss in the Holding Cells.
