The Citadel Gate Lever comes from the Bloodcursed Lithopod in the ravine southeast of the Gloomshade Grove Beacon. Defeat the Lithopod, pick up the lever from its remains, then install and pull it at the mechanism beside the Citadel’s barred main gate to open that entrance permanently. A teleport route can get you inside without the lever, but it does not unlock the gate.
Where to find the Citadel Gate Lever
- Fast-travel to the Gloomshade Grove Beacon and head southeast toward the water. Follow the descending path into the ravine. From the Citadel gate, sloping paths also lead downhill toward the same area.
- Cross the gap using the pale bone structure, then follow the coastal ledge past the campfire to the open rocky area.
- Look for the Bloodcursed Lithopod at a large rocky outcropping. It is the enemy that drops the lever.
How to beat the Bloodcursed Lithopod
Guides describe the Lithopod as a large stone crab that leaps and crashes down. Its slam is the main attack to watch for: evade it, then use the recovery window to attack. If smaller enemies are nearby, clearing them first can reduce pressure during the fight. These are tactics reported by the guides, not independently tested here. How to install the lever and open the gate
- After defeating the Lithopod, inspect its remains and manually collect the Citadel Gate Lever. It may not enter your inventory automatically.
- Return to the Gloomshade Grove Beacon and take the cave or path route back toward the Citadel.
- At the barred main gate, deal with the guard if one is present. Interact with the empty wall mechanism beside the gate and confirm the “Put Lever?” prompt.
- Pull the installed lever to raise the gate. Guides report that the main gate stays open permanently afterward.
Defeating the Lithopod is also reported to open access to the nearby Ravaged Hideout. GameSpot’s guide also identifies the lever as the way to open the front gate.
Can you enter the Citadel without the lever?
Yes. From the One-Legged Wolf Beacon in southeastern Fainweald, head toward the nearby ruins and touch the unusual candle- or pouch-like object. The teleport deposits you in a lower prison cell inside the Citadel. This bypasses the Lithopod and the front gate, but it does not raise or permanently unlock that gate.
