No—Monster Hunter: World has no dedicated button for jumping freely during ordinary movement. You can get airborne in specific situations, such as moving off suitable terrain, and some weapons add their own aerial moves. Those actions are contextual or weapon-specific, not a universal jump command.
How do you get airborne?
In Monster Hunter: World, aerial actions depend on what the hunter is doing or where they are. Two useful cases are terrain-based jumping opportunities and a weapon-specific vault.

| Method | What triggers it | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Terrain-based aerial action | Moving off an appropriate ledge or slope | Can create an opportunity for a jumping attack; it is not a free jump from flat ground. |
| Insect Glaive vault | Using the weapon’s own move | Launches the hunter into the air and can lead into follow-up aerial attacks. |
A “jump attack” means an attack made while airborne. It does not mean the hunter can jump whenever you press a general-purpose button. For weapon-specific move details, consult the Insect Glaive guide.
Why can’t I give one universal button input?
Controls depend on platform and configuration. Monster Hunter: World launched on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in January 2018, then on Windows in August 2018, so a control reference for one version should not be treated as universal. The Capcom manual index links separate manuals for PlayStation 4/Xbox One and Steam. Check the manual for your platform or the in-game Hunter’s Notes for the applicable move and binding. A secondary controls reference lists movement plus × for a ledge-related jump, but that binding is platform-specific and should not be assumed to apply to every setup.
