Treat any alert as a prompt to check the authority’s site—not as confirmation that results have been declared.
Find the current official result page first
Identify the exam and session, then reach the result page through the issuing authority’s official website or its linked results portal. Confirm the page applies to the current exam cycle and check for notices about portal changes before creating a monitor.

- NTA: Start at the official Exam Result page and follow the link for your exam and session.
- SSC: The older SSC results page directs visitors to ssc.gov.in for current results and other updates. Prefer the current portal.
- CBSE: Use the CBSE results portal and check for session-specific instructions.
- Government results gateway: results.gov.in can help locate central and state results, but the page reports a last-updated date of 16 November 2021. Use it for discovery, then verify the destination with the exam authority.
Do not rely on a search result, forwarded message, or social-media repost as the source of a result link. In a 12 February 2024 advisory, CBSE warned about misleading social accounts using its name or logo and advised the public to follow its official X handle, @cbseindia29, for verified CBSE information (CBSE advisory).
Set up a ChangeTower monitor
- Copy the exact page URL. Prefer the result list, exam-specific result notice, or page that will carry the result link over a broad homepage. ChangeTower’s setup guidance recommends entering the full URL for the page of interest and saving an initial snapshot for comparison (ChangeTower setup guide).
- Create a monitor. Paste the URL into ChangeTower and save the monitor so it can compare later checks with the initial snapshot.
- Choose what counts as a useful change. Select content monitoring for broad page changes, keyword monitoring for a particular phrase, or selective monitoring to focus on a relevant area. ChangeTower also describes Smart Monitor criteria for specifying what to track.
- Set the check schedule. Choose an available interval that fits the expected result window and your plan settings. ChangeTower’s product materials list schedules as frequent as every five minutes and as infrequent as weekly; its email-notifications page also describes every-five-minute, hourly, daily, or custom day-and-time options. These are documented settings, not a guarantee that every check completes at an exact minute.
- Enable email alerts. ChangeTower says email notifications are enabled by default when a monitor is created. Confirm the setting and check that the address on the account can receive them (ChangeTower email notifications).
ChangeTower also documents Slack, Microsoft Teams, and webhook notifications for workflows that need more than email. Its feature overview describes page content, keywords, selected regions, natural-language criteria, and scheduled checks (ChangeTower features).

Choose settings that fit an exam-result page
| Setting | Use it when | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Content monitoring | Any edit to the result or notice page may matter. | Page redesigns, routine updates, or unrelated changes can also trigger attention. |
| Keyword monitoring | You want to watch for a known phrase, such as the exam name plus “result” or “result declared.” | A notice may use different wording, so a narrow phrase can miss a relevant update. |
| Selective monitoring | The result list or announcement appears in one identifiable part of a busier page. | If the authority changes the page layout, the selected area may no longer be the right region. |
If only a general results index is available, monitor that page and consider a keyword related to the exam or result. A session-specific link may appear only after an announcement, and some result access may be behind a form. A monitor cannot guarantee that every result will appear as readable page text.
What to do when an alert arrives
- Open the issuing authority’s website directly rather than relying on links in an alert email.
- Inspect the changed page and locate the exam-specific notice or result link.
- Follow the authority’s instructions for login details, scorecards, or documents.
- Use only official access channels and preserve any instructions about original documents.
A page change is not proof that a result has been declared: it may reflect an unrelated edit, a layout change, or a temporary page state. CBSE’s 13 May 2025 Class XII notice, for example, described online results as immediate information and said original marksheets were issued separately. That guidance concerned that examination cycle; follow the current notice for your exam (CBSE notice, 13 May 2025). ChangeTower likewise describes alerts as detected changes against a saved snapshot, not official result declarations.
Common problems and practical fixes
- No alert arrives: Check the monitor’s email-notification setting, the address on the account, and the selected schedule. Allow for the configured check interval rather than expecting an immediate check.
- Too many alerts: Switch from whole-page monitoring to a keyword or selected-area monitor if the result content is identifiable.
- The official page moved: Revisit the exam authority’s homepage and current portal notice, then update the monitor to the current exact URL. This matters especially for older portals such as SSC’s legacy results page.
- The page requires a form or session: A public page monitor may not expose the result behind a login or session-specific flow. Check the authority’s official instructions and monitor the public notice page where possible.
- An alert seems suspicious: Navigate to the authority’s official domain independently and verify the notice there. Do not treat a copied social post as confirmation.
