Choose Digital Deluxe if you play Diamond Dynasty and the listed bonuses are worth the current price gap to you. Its launch early access has ended, so it is no longer a reason to pay more.
Standard vs. Digital Deluxe: what you get
The official listings identify two main editions: Standard and Digital Deluxe. The exact extras shown with Standard can vary by storefront; PlayStation lists five The Show Packs with it.

Check the store for your platform before buying: displayed prices and discounts are storefront-specific and can change. The official PlayStation page showed a temporary sale price during the research date, and Xbox also displayed discounted prices; neither is a dependable universal price.
Is Digital Deluxe worth the extra cost?
Compare the price gap with what you will actually use, rather than treating every pack or cosmetic as equivalent to cash value. The Deluxe bundle is aimed most clearly at players who intend to spend time in Diamond Dynasty and want its packs, Stubs, daily rewards, and cosmetics. If you mainly want the baseball game or play other modes, Standard avoids paying for extras that may not matter to you.

- Choose Standard if you want the base game or are unsure whether you will use the Deluxe bonuses.
- Consider Digital Deluxe if you regularly play Diamond Dynasty and value its specific included items more than the current price difference.
- Do not count early access as a present-day benefit: it was a launch-period perk, and those dates have passed.
Which platforms support MLB The Show 26?
MLB The Show 26 launched March 17, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. The official FAQ says there is no PS4 version. The official platform listings reviewed do not list a PC release. Nintendo lists the Switch version as supported on Switch 2, with behavior consistent with Nintendo Switch; that is compatibility, not a separate Switch 2 edition. Nintendo also cautions that Switch Lite compatibility and play experience may differ and that additional accessories may be required.
Cross-play, internet, and subscription requirements
PlayStation Support says all supported consoles support cross-play. However, internet access and a platform subscription are required for specific online modes; requirements are not identical for every mode.

Check the official mode requirements for the activity you intend to play, particularly if subscription cost affects your choice of platform.
What happened to early access and the pre-order discount?
San Diego Studio’s launch announcement said Digital Deluxe access began March 12, 2026, at 9 p.m. PT (March 13 UTC), while Standard launched March 16 at 9 p.m. PT (March 17 UTC). Both windows have passed, so early access offers no advantage for a new purchase now. The same announcement said the pre-order loyalty discount expired when the game launched; it should not be treated as an available current discount.

A quick buying decision
- Confirm that the game is available for your console: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or Nintendo Switch.
- Compare the current Standard and Digital Deluxe prices in that platform’s store.
- If you play Diamond Dynasty, decide whether you genuinely want the Deluxe packs, Stubs, rewards, and cosmetics enough to cover the difference.
- Include the relevant online subscription in your platform budget if you plan to play modes that require it.
- Buy Standard if the bonuses do not justify the difference; buy Digital Deluxe only if they do.
