If a Minesweeper website is blank, frozen, or stuck loading
These browser steps are general guidance from Microsoft for Microsoft Edge, not fixes specific to any particular Minesweeper site. Microsoft’s Edge troubleshooting guidance recommends checking the browser, available memory, and connection.
- Reload the page and reduce browser load. Close other tabs, downloads, and apps you do not need. Microsoft notes that high memory use can stop a page from loading. If you use Edge, update it and temporarily remove unnecessary extensions.
- Clear cached files if the page still displays incorrectly. In Edge, go to Settings and more > History > Open history page > Delete browsing data. Select All time and Cached images and files, then choose Clear now. Start with cached files rather than clearing all browsing data, which can have wider effects.
- Try the same game in another browser. If it fails there too, the cause may be the network or the website rather than the original browser. Restart your modem or router; if the problem persists, contact the site owner.
Restarting the browser or testing another browser is generally less disruptive than clearing broader browsing data. Microsoft’s general guidance also recommends restarting the device and trying the page in another browser. On supported Windows installations, Edge may be repairable through Windows settings; use Microsoft’s guidance for the applicable version.

If the Microsoft Minesweeper app stays on its loading screen
A Microsoft Q&A discussion from January 2024 describes a loading-animation problem with the Windows app. An Independent Advisor suggested restarting the PC and game, checking Microsoft Store for an app update, and trying the app’s Repair option. That is community advice in a historical thread, not current official game documentation. Read the Microsoft Q&A discussion.
- Close the game and restart the PC, then open the app again.
- Check Microsoft Store for an available update for the app.
- If it still will not load, try the app’s Repair option in Windows settings.
- Consider Reset or reinstall only after less disruptive steps fail. Before doing so, check whether your progress is synchronized or whether a backup option is available. The cited sources do not establish what a reset preserves.
When to suspect an outage
A report about a loading problem dated January 1–2, 2024 cannot show whether Minesweeper is down now. The sources cited here do not verify live service status, current app versions, browser requirements for individual Minesweeper websites, or game-specific save behavior. If other sites and apps work but one Minesweeper page does not, the site itself may be the issue; the available evidence does not establish that it is an outage.
