Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteTo keep a YouTube channel active with scheduled livestreams, choose a repeatable time you can maintain, schedule each event in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, share its watch page so viewers can set reminders, and make the replay useful afterward. Scheduling creates a dependable routine and gives viewers a chance to opt in to notifications; it does not guarantee more views, subscribers, or revenue.
What scheduling does—and what it does not
A scheduled livestream has an upcoming watch page that you can share before it begins. YouTube says scheduled streams may appear to subscribers as upcoming, and viewers can choose Notify me. That gives interested viewers a way to get a reminder, but does not ensure that every subscriber sees the event or attends.

Consistency is most useful when it is sustainable and each broadcast gives viewers a reason to return. Pick a cadence you can actually keep, then adjust it using your audience response and analytics rather than assuming a schedule alone will grow the channel.
Check eligibility before planning a recurring stream
YouTube’s general live-streaming requirements include a verified channel, no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and a minimum age of 16. A restriction can prevent streaming for 14 days after a strike; using another channel to get around an active restriction is prohibited. YouTube also lists simultaneous limits of 10 active streams per channel and three per stream key. See YouTube’s live-streaming requirements.
#1 Best Overall
- 15 Customizable LCD Keys: instantly control your apps, tools and platforms.
- One-Touch Operation: trigger single or multiple actions, launch social posts, adjust audio, mute mic, turn on lights, and much more.
- Visual Feedback: know that your command has been executed.
- Powerful Plugins: Elgato 4KCU, OBS, Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, Discord, Spotify, Philips Hue, and many more.
- Hotkey Actions: streamline your film editing, music production, photography workflow, etc.
Mobile streaming has additional requirements and is not interchangeable with the general eligibility rules: YouTube lists at least 50 subscribers, channel verification, live streaming enabled, no restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and a compatible device. Initial activation can take up to 24 hours. Check YouTube’s mobile livestream terms and conditions before relying on a phone-only workflow.
How to schedule a YouTube livestream
- Choose a repeatable time and a distinct subject. Decide on a cadence that fits your production capacity. Give each episode a clear purpose—such as a Q&A, walkthrough, demonstration, office hour, event, or topical discussion—rather than repeating an identical broadcast without a fresh contribution.
- Open the scheduling controls. In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live → Manage, then schedule a stream. The Manage tab supports creating scheduled streams and reusing settings. Follow YouTube’s live-stream settings guidance.
- Review the event details every time. Check the title, description, visibility, audience setting, date, and time before saving. Reusing appropriate settings saves setup work, but a copied date or description can make an otherwise correct event misleading.
- Pick the streaming method that fits the production. YouTube supports mobile, webcam, and encoder routes. An encoder is an optional production method, not a requirement for scheduling. If you use an encoder, YouTube requires the server URL and stream key; treat the key like a password and do not share or publish it. See YouTube’s encoder setup instructions.
- Test before the event. Check the camera or media source, sound, internet connection, and encoder settings if applicable before your scheduled start. YouTube’s livestreaming tips can help you prepare. A test prevents avoidable setup problems from consuming the live session.
Promote the scheduled stream and set expectations
Share the scheduled watch page in a community post, your video descriptions, and other audience channels you control. Tell viewers what the session covers and when it starts, and invite them to open the page and select Notify me if they want a reminder. YouTube explains the reminder and upcoming-stream behavior in its live-stream promotion guidance.

- Tactile Control, Visual Feedback: LCD keys, touch strip, and dials for audio, video, lighting, and more. Know that your command has been executed.
- Fully Customizable: Use as an audio mixer, studio controller, production console, etc.
- Multi Actions, Smart Profiles: trigger multiple actions at once or sequentially, automatically switch between interface configurations for different apps.
- Powerful Plugins: Elgato Wave Link, Camera Hub, Control Center, OBS, Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, Discord, Spotify, Philips Hue, and many more
- Stream Deck App and Store: drag and drop setup, download plugins, icons, thousands of royalty-free tracks, SFX, and more. Regular updates and new plugins frequently added.
Keep the announced cadence accurate. If a stream must move or be cancelled, update the event details and tell viewers through the same channels where you promoted it. Do not promise that a particular schedule will trigger recommendation placement or increase reach.
Run the event, then make the replay useful
End at a planned time, especially if you want YouTube’s automatic archive. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; broadcasts longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. Keep a local recording as a backup, and check the archive’s actual visibility in Studio afterward. YouTube notes that archives are public by default in its promotion guidance, but verify the setting rather than assuming it. Details are in YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.

- Six multifunction dials: Make quick adjustments with more precision; turn a single dial into many functions with tools like Action Trigger for extra control; adjust settings and levels with precision
- Touch strip display: See important information at a quick glance; see your most important info in real time on an expanded touch strip; access additional pages of actions with a quick swipe of your finger
- Hundreds of integrations: Connect essential apps and equipment; integrate everything from DAWs and video switchers to creative apps; expand your connectivity with optional accessories like Network Dock
- Custom profiles: Create unique layouts for workflows and users; create custom profiles for workflows, projects, and team members; unlimited custom profiles for seamless page navigation
Once the replay is available, review its visibility and organize it with related videos or eligible highlights in a relevant playlist. A replay can extend the usefulness of the event for people who could not attend live; it should still have a clear title and description that reflect what happened.
Keep recurring content valuable and monetization expectations realistic
A regular format can be consistent without making every episode interchangeable. YouTube’s channel monetization policy describes repetitive or mass-produced material as “inauthentic content” and notes a July 15, 2025 update. Its guidance says the substance of videos should be meaningfully varied and offer viewers creative, educational, or other value. Plan a distinct focus or contribution for each stream and review the YouTube channel monetization policies.

Eligible channels may have access to ads, Super Chat, Super Stickers, or memberships, but eligibility applies and ads are not guaranteed to serve. YouTube reports that creators who chose live automatic mid-rolls saw, on average, over 20% uplift in instream ad revenue per hour. This is YouTube’s comparison of channels using automatic live mid-roll ads with channels not using them across 207 countries in January 2024; it is not a promise for an individual channel and says nothing about the audience-growth effect of scheduling. See YouTube’s live-stream monetization guidance.

- You cannot start streaming: Check channel verification, age eligibility, whether live streaming is enabled, and any live-stream restriction. If the restriction followed a strike, YouTube says it can block streaming for 14 days. For mobile, also check the separate subscriber and device requirements.
- The stream does not appear as expected: Reopen the event in Studio and confirm its date, time, visibility, title, and audience setting. Share the scheduled watch page itself so viewers can find the event and opt into a reminder.
- An encoder will not connect: Confirm that it is using the current server URL and stream key shown for the event. Keep the key private; if it may have been exposed, replace it in YouTube’s live controls and update the encoder.
- The replay is missing or incomplete: Check whether the broadcast exceeded 12 hours, since YouTube warns that longer streams may not be captured. Use a local recording as backup and verify archive visibility in Studio.
- Viewers do not return for each episode: Review attendance and audience response, then test a different time, subject, or format. A schedule is a communication and planning tool, not a guarantee of audience growth.
