Yes. Minecraft Dungeons II supports cross-platform co-op among players on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. You can play solo or form a party of up to four, invite friends with an eight-character party code, or use matchmaking. Local couch players can join the same online session as remote friends; couch co-op also works offline.
Which platforms support crossplay?
The game launched on September 29, 2026, for Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. Players on those listed platforms can join the same party using the in-game party system. Mojang describes cross-platform play in its launch announcement and co-op feature guide.

That means, for example, a Switch player can join a PS5 player. Crossplay covers the listed platforms; the cited official information does not establish support for other platforms.

What co-op modes are available?
- Solo: Play by yourself.
- Offline couch co-op: Play locally with others on one device without an online session.
- Online co-op: Join friends remotely or use matchmaking. Online console play requires the platform subscription listed below.
- Mixed couch and online co-op: Local players can play together on one device while remote friends join the same online party.
The party limit is four players total. Official materials do not specify how many local players each platform allows on one device, so the local-player split within a four-person party may vary.

How to invite friends with a party code
- Make sure everyone is using one of the supported platforms. Players joining online from a console need the applicable online subscription; Nintendo players also need a Nintendo Account.
- Open or create a party in the game and share its eight-character code, which uses letters and numbers.
- Have each friend select the in-game “join by party code” option and enter the code.
- Friends can join from the lobby or while a game is already in progress.
Mojang’s co-op guide says the code works across platforms. The same guide describes matchmaking as an alternative: it can find players or fill open party slots, taking core quest progress, region, and power level into account.
Can local co-op play online with friends?
Yes. Start a couch co-op session locally, then take that session online so remote friends can join. The total party still cannot exceed four players. The official description confirms mixed local-and-online play but does not give a platform-by-platform maximum for local players on one device.

What subscriptions and online requirements apply?
Offline couch co-op does not require an online session. Remote play and online console features do have platform-specific requirements:

|---|---|
| Xbox Series X|S | Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium, or Ultimate. See Xbox’s game listing. |
| PlayStation 5 | PlayStation Plus. See PlayStation’s game page. |
| Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 | Nintendo Switch Online, a Nintendo Account, and internet access for online features. Nintendo also says an initial content download is required. See Nintendo’s store page. |
| Steam | The cited sources do not state a platform subscription requirement. |
Can you continue the same hero on another platform?
Mojang says hero data is stored online. Link the platform accounts you use to the same Microsoft account to continue with the same hero on another platform. This describes hero progression; it does not establish that a game purchase, downloadable content, or ownership transfers between platforms. Details are in the official co-op guide.

What to know about matchmaking and connection quality
Mojang says matchmaking considers core quest progress, region, and power level. The studio also says dedicated servers select a server based on party members’ ping. That is a description of how the service is designed, not a guarantee of uninterrupted play or low latency for every player.
